I am going into Mayo Hospital today for repair and maintenance. I have had a heart problem for several years and had hoped to prolong this until the end of the season.
It didn't happen. So, today, I am getting a new Aorta Valve (cute little thingy made from a cow)and my main artery repaired (this is the same problem that killed John Ritter last year)
According to my doctors, survival rate is 98% which is good odds. However, anytime you go into surgery and have your heart shut down for a while, its not going to be fun. The alternative is not acceptable.
So, God willing, I will see you all on line in a few weeks. I understand I will be in ICU for a couple of days and homebound for about 8 weeks.
I want everyone to know that if something should go wrong, it's been one hell of a trip and it has been a pleasure knowing each of you. Thats called protecting my butt..I will see you on line in a little while.
But if you have a little prayer handy, now would be the time to use it.
