My "semisealed up from the rain" door...Got this far sealing it up and ran out of duct tape...
Driver side of the box inside..
And the trouble making passenger side...Only up at the top is giving me troubles...
I'll get back to work on it hopefully in the next day or so...Just taking some time to figure the best way to angle that one edge...

Did some thinking this afternoon, went and did couple measurements...I found by cutting a width of 1.25" of the top layer on the lid allows the box to slide into the window well,just...and I mean JUST enough...
As well I had to hammer the wheel well in on the drivers side to allow the box to slip in.I'll fill it in with spray foam later...
So now next step will be to bolt the box down to the floor and start the nitty gritty stuff...Baffling,sealing it off at the B-Pillar,etc...
Yeah,it sits further back than I thought it would, but this will allow me to do some flaring, bondoing, and whatnot.....
The door closes now,so it will possibly sit til Friday when I have some cash to get supplies....
But...We have a Box in the van now!!

Ok...weather finally straightened out enough for me to get a little work done...and payday so got some supplies too...
I started by getting the box straight and somewhat centred...to do that I had to notch about 1/2 inch on the top passenger corner so it would JUST clear...
Seen here the drivers side of the box...if you look carefully it sits just behind the seatbelt...
After that was in place I spray foamed across the top of the sliding door and set the weather stripping into it...Its almost air tight now...
I then went on to spray foam the leading lower edge to seal it up and made a block off board for the top and then sealed the rest of the way with spray foam...
Thats about all I got done this evening, but tommorow will be a big day...If all goes well I should have a crew of 8 SPLers over to help get this thing going and to start on my roomies S10 No Wall setup....So if everyone shows, the weather holds out and everyone gets drunk enough, we should have some rough test runs done by the end of the day....unless someone drinks too much beer and passes out....then we'll just have to box him in...LOL...
Anyway,I'll have more pics tommorow...Some of you might recognize a couple of the faces...

Saturday was a very big very productive day thanks to a couple of awesome friends...Two in particular...Ateam who spent the night friday and Darkside Koncepts who as soon as we could went at it like a troopers while I tried to tend to a bad tooth...
Thanks Clay and Travis for all your work yesterday...
Now that being said,we now a have a fully operational SPL setup!!
We started off by finishing the trim woork around the box and worked on making a "baffle"...4 layers..
And...
Building a box for inside...
Thats right!!!I'm going bandpass!!!
We re-enforced the loading wall with a hunk of angle iron and smoothed off the edge of the baffle using a hunk of PVC 2" tubing....both found on the propety I live on...lol....
For power, right now I'm running 2 runs of power and 2 runs ground, simply due to my limited budget, but as time goes on I do plan to upgrade that...
A little later in the day some friends stopped by to offer some help...
Including these 2 trouble makers...lol...Look familiar to anyone???
So after hours of building,it finally came....the moment to test...
We first started with the box facing backward,up against the front wall...peak was @52 htz...147.2...
Please keep in mind, this is meant to be simple low power testing to find where everything need to be...I still need to buy amps, add in my line driver and seal, bondo, round off,etc the enclosure,so there is potential for a lot more....
I then got in an flipped the box around...real fun to do with a simple trouble light to work by...lol
Facing forward with the box against the back wall,58 htz..146.?...
At this point it started to down pour so we called it a night at that...
But she's up and running...ready to work with...and work at getting loud!!
I need to send out a big shout out to the following people
Team RipRock Team RipRock 2-AKA A-Rok Team LoudCanada-Alberta Seege OutlawSPL and of course.. Darkside Koncepts ATeam Audio(Clay Schaffer)
Thanks to all of you who came out yesterday and offered a hand and some advise...and to drink alot of beer...lol...
Hopefully more pics and numbers coming soon!!

I think I thought of the reason for the low number...
When my buddy hooked up the amp,he also hooked up the bass controller as well....
I think disconnecting that will make a HUGE difference....
We'll see next time we test...

Right now thats the only scores I have to report, but as time goes on,I'm sure I'll get some better numbers up....

I would do your subs forward or back test again once you get some power because it may change a lot.

We got some more testing and tuning in tonight....and man were we productive!!
Thanks again to Clay from ATeam Audio for coming out and helping...he's been huge in getting this thing going..
We first laid out a base line to start with..146.6 with no mods done other than firing the subs back again.
We gradually worked with the sealed box placement and found what we figured to be the sweet spot.We came up to a 147.9 or so in doing that.
We tried paneling off the void behind the sealed enclosure and dropped by 3 dbs..out that came...
Next we added a 45* angle to the corner in the back of the port...148.9!!A 1 db jump!!
From there we went to trying to tuning the port portion. We narrowed the port a considerable amount and gave er a go....149.6!!
About a 3 db jump over a couple hours of work...A good night I would say..
Also bare in mind we tested with a slightly lower power amp this time, the HardCore RipRock 500d,which at a certain volume began to draw huge power and eventually went into protection. The last time we tested,we used a PowerAcoutiks 3000d,which likes the .25 load better than the RipRock, but the PA seems to have given up the ghost,so for now,we will test with whats available..
We plan to play some more next weekend before the show at AutoTemp Air and Sound...As well,I may have some power to throw in....but for now, thats my little secret...MUHAHAHAHAHA!!

Sorry for not keeping up with things here...
Last weekend was a very interesting one indeed. The first comp of the year and pulled a 149.8 in qualif.I went and did some slight port mods to try and improve the number and my score dropped by .5.
As well, just for curiosity sake,we hooked up an EarthQuake 10000D running off a somewhat depleted 16V setup..just to see the difference....it was good for .3..Not quite the improvement I had hoped for..
So in coming weeks I am hoping to rip the front "wall" off the box,and try out a tradtional wall setup...I'll keep ya posted....

reason i hate half assing things like testing wiht one amp now or wrong impedance subs while you may gain wiht say a one amp setup you might lose with a second amp setup dunno why but it has happened to me.

Thats the unfortunate part of my setup...I only have 1 amp....Been trying to sell it to get more power, but with no luck...
As far as peaking out,we still havent played with sealed box volume, but with the limited amount of mic time I get here and there,we decided we should try out a tradtiional wall..it maybe easier to tune and get louder....
