I have a TON of old trophies that I need to get rid of. I know that there is some sort of kids organization out there that takes them in to re-use for different kids events. Does anyone know which one it is??
I figured someone on here had done the same thing at some point. I hate to throw 150 trophies in the trash, but they need to go somewhere!

Yeah, but I'm tired of calling them not knowing which one. I called 5 different Boys and Girls clubs before I even got an answer, then I got refered 3 different times to different people in administration before finally being left with a voice mailbox to the director. No one else had a clue if they did or didn't. After 8 phone calls for ONE org, I give up.
Hoping someone on here will know the one I had heard about and save the hassle!

I know Fred used to take in old trophies and make plaques with all the shows listed on them, you may want to ask him if he still does.
I may end up doing that, but I guess I would rather give them to someone that would make some kids happy. I know how big a deal it is to my son.

I would certainly not give them to a trophy builder to sell for profit.
I give them to my local trophy builder all the time.
I have gotten several hundred given to me in the past years. I have given them to my mother to use at her local church for the Awana program. She takes them to the local trophy guy to get relabled, cleaned up and redated for about $2 each. The trophy builder donates his time for a good cause. $2 for a $30 trophy isn't too bad.
BTW - A local trophy builder may know of someone that could use them or is currently doing the same thing as mentioned above for someone.

Send them this way. We will give them away at shows here in the midwest. Seriously our biggest problem here is if we do shows, what to do about trophies. If we didn't have that expense we could do a ton more shows.

i gave my 300 hundred trophies (from when i raced RC Cars) to my kids school when iwas coaching her baseball team.
the parents all chipped in, and paid for new brass plates & engraving, as well as baseball tops for them (since cars didnt really cut it), and i cleaned them all up and put the plates and tops on them.
EVERY kid got a trophy when the season was over.
they all looked different lol but the looks on thier faces when they each got a trophy was all that mattered.
we used all my old trophies for two years since ihad so many. it saved the parents alot. and everyone was greatful, since the school doesnt pay for anything where sports are concerned, thep arents pay for all expenses. (since its only gradeschool)
but anyway, i'd check with a local gradeschool.

I tried to give some of my old trophies to my daughters school, but they said they only run "non competative" events at the school sports day.... what a load of politically correct rubbish
But I did have my own 10th anniversary event this year where I used my old ones re-badged as the trophies. Going to have a "firestarter 11" next year to get rid of a few more
Oh, im taking off all the old plaques and mounting them on a couple of nice bits of stained board, got to keep something.
