Well guys this is my 20,000 post, and figured it would be best if I used it to say Thank You to all of the people that I have met and become friends with over the past 6 years in Db Drag! You guys really are "Family" to me. And I could not have done what I have done in this sport without many of you helping me along the way!
In 1999 I came into this sport as a total newb and decided to try it out with my friends just to see who was louder (I won of course) In 99 was the first time I met Alan Riley (when he had the tracker) and knew one day I wanted to be just as loud as that thing was (still waiting for that day?) Then I met a person who has helped me so much over the past few years and am honored to have him as my friend. Crazy Db Dave is his name.....and I would like to think that I am partially responsible for Dave going extrememe class nowadays....afterall It was me who said "Dave, I see you being as loud as Alma Gates one day!" (00 Merriville show I think I said that)
Then in the begining of 00 I was put in contact with Gary Alwes, Anthony Lloyd, Dave Lawrence, Josh Mertzig, Jeremy Weber, Ron, Alejandro, Simeon, and the Alfaros. Together most of us formed Team Epicenter and you guys helped me make it to my first (and only world finals) Without you guys I would not have even come close to making world finals, let alone placing in the top 8!
In 00 I also met up with and was helped out by another bunch of great people who just happened to build some of the loudest woofers on the planet. Shocker Mike and Chris Norris..... Mike it was a privleage to test out the first Shocker Extreme 12's for you, and glad I could help you get a little business in the mean time.
I was also fortunate enough to team up with Image Dynamics and run their ID SPL woofers...these were the woofers that got me to finals....so Thank you to Matt and everyone else at ID for helping out this no named guy when he was first starting out!
Tara, Danny, and everyone else that made it out to the Details shows in Muscatine, thank you for all the help and an awesome time at those shows. This is when Danny introduced me to his "Magic SPL Dust"
The first show of the 00 season is when I met everyone on "Team Hurricane" These guys always pushed me harder and harder to catch their boy Richie (who happened to have a trunk car in my class as well) and finally towards the end of the season the last few shows I was able to get louder than him.....but Richie did get the best of me at finals (even though my score was better), so thank you for pushing me to be louder!
In 01 I just missed making finals while using 1 woofer 90% of the season! I had a certified of 150 and a hard fought one at that. In 01 I was lucky enough to meet and become friends with a bunch of great competitors. Mike Stiers, Gene, Eric, Dion, Ian Ashton, Jeff Brown, Dave Roberts, Mike Skaritka, Nate and all you crazy Wisconson peepz.....Although I ran into some family issues, you guys still made shows a blast for me, and looked foward to Sundays when I could just let everything go and have a good time!
In 03 I was lucky enough to have hooked up with RE (yes I was one of the first) David and Scott you guys rock and thank you for continuing to "hook me up" I have been running RE sence then and could not be happier. Great group of guys and always there to answer my questions and take my call (I have the secret number j/k)
I know I have not competed a lot lately (School, Money, Work) you guys still treat me as "one of your own." Without you guys, I probably would have never gotten loud and never gotten into this great sport.......I will be back soon though hopefully!
So for my 20,000 post, I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone that I have met, become friends with, and for everyone that has helped me become who I am today......THANK YOU!!!
