It was actually Mellisa Sams, Ben Samm's wife at the time.

It was an extended cab F series truck, white I think. The one Ben used to have a buttload of infinity and JBL in.

It was right at a 160 on the old meter then I think. You should be able to look it up under her name, should have been 2001 I think??

I think you guys are thinking of 2 different vehicles... there was a white E350 van that was build at finals one year. They dynomated the whole interior (dash and all) and stacked a bunch of bazooka tubes up and strapped them together and covered the face with dynomat cutting out the holes for the subs and the ports. Dunno what exact class they ended up running, but I know they were moved to extreme. Then the following year Ben and Mellisa built the F250 in a similar way. If I recall it did 163's (classic tlab) with the infinity/jbl, and 157's with bazooka.

I didnt recognize the guys working on it... I think it was in the dynomat booth... If I had to guess I would say it was reps for dynomat.

Scottie is right... they were building it during finals. showing that the bazooka tubes can get loud, and how well dynamat works. i think they did a best of 163 or so dB ( which was pretty loud for that year). not bad at all.

btw.. in that issue... i'm mentioned in it.. as well as the rest of the guys i worked with ( at the time) for the debut of the "Powerwheels SPL Competition". mark Masters originated the concept, and we ( Audio NXS) as well as team cheatercenter took it to another level... usaci finals was even more fun ( for mini spl)
