I stopped reading at the first page b/c I have something to say about sponsored people. there is a team called TEAM BK! I have been able to get to know "brian" for a period of time now, and he became the loudest vehicle in the state of maryland, and he has had NO HELP from any sponsors! His dedication to the sport is unreal but since he's not a top dog or doesn't have fancy stuff, it seems liek no one really knows who he is or what he can do. So when I hear that people can't compete b/c they don't have the money, I have to say, thats just an excuse! I mean, i may be wrong here and I may possibly should read more posts about it, but I got the picture. Last thing I gots to say, hope to see some of ya back next year and have more fun! thanks

i have nothing against team BK, but i do not think their score quite reflects a full ride. maybe a part sponsorship, just my two cents. next you need to market yourself. go up to companies, do your homework, get your foot in the door, and get the sponsorship you have been asking for...

I was going to call it quits, but after the way my former teamate acted at finals I thought hell no I'm not going to go out like this. 2 years in a row my woofers have blown up in the lane, but I'm still here. dB drag is like an addiction to crack, you try to quit but it keeps calling your name and it says take another burp and like a zombie you do.I'll be the first to admit that I have a desease and its called SPL. So to those that are calling it quits all the best to you and to all of those still married to the game good luck and see you in the lanes next season.

jarfunkz, I can tell you first hand, there has been NOONE to help out team BK with how they got where they are at now, garenteed, but no money back cause I don't have none! LOL. But I can say, that if the right sponsorship came to him, I don't know if he would take it or not, and if he did, He'd most likely do him very best to dominate the class he was in, but I just wanted to clarify that no sponsorship or company has given that team anything!!!! Hard earned money at its best, YEA BABY!!

that's what i am saying... sponsorships are not handed out like candy during halloween. i called like 6 companies a million times last year before i got a sponsorship. i think kicker wants to sponsor extreme competitors, maybe switch the vehicle out to do extreme.

Provided that there are plenty of shows in the area next season I plan on getting into db drag alot heavier next year....my newest equipment took too long to show up this season so drag wasn't too much of a possibility.....it will be meca and db drag for me next year.......

Pipo hit the nail on the head for those of us in FL.
I hit rock bottom financially and didnt have the money to pay my phone bill much less go to finals - which i'm still pissed that I couldnt go....got a job now finally at Circuit city.
This next year will see me in force until May, then I'm gone for about 3.5 yrs if things go according to plan. Before then I intend to go out with a bang....
And if drag is still around in say 4 years when I get out of doctoral school, 'I'll be back!'

Pipo, there is somewhat new competitor coming to Florida, hopefully next season. You saw him at the Burton's car audio show in March of 2003. This time he knows a little bit more, and is going to take better than 2nd and 3rd place (hopefully)
Now to get to building. I sure hope there are a few events around here, besides SBN. I was told to go to MECA, but really really want to give dB drag a chance.

I'm done competing. I finally realized that things aren't going to change with the sport, if they haven't yet they aren't going to. I guess Jessica was right all along!
Hopefully I will still be able to host shows, maybe I can change things from the "inside" LOL
