The main problem isnt that it is 2 amps, its that several people tried getting a ruling on it wayyyyyy prior to finals, some even called wayne and got an ok and then the friday of finals its banned. I cant agree with you more when you open it, it plainly is two amps, my question is why did they wait til finals to open it

When the European Judges ruled the Collosus was two amps, notice should have been sent to Wayne and all US competitors.
Something should have been said sooner as I've seen many European Competitors and Tor on these boards daily.
Maybe some Competitors knew it was two amps prior to Finals but my thought would be that if it was allowed to set World records, then it must be legal.
Just reading all of this I would have to wonder if certain Competitors were set-up so someone else could win.
Rules are rules and although the timing stunk, the rules were never actually changed->Just inforced.
if anyone likes, i have a collosus and a sawzall. we can split the boards apart and see for yourself.
don't you think there should be alot more to a ruling than just going by what something "looks" like. i know that to the untrained eye, it does appear to be two separate amplifiers. but there is alot more to it than that. they share one common preamp stage for starters that is totally independant from both boards that you all are looking at. how can you have two independant amplifiers in one case if there is only one preamp stage to share between them. that means if you did split them up, only one of them can have a preamp stage. it's more like 1.66 amplifires instead of two. who was the engineer/judge that made this decision at finals? i am curious to know how they arrived at this decision and their electronic engineering backround.

SPLNUT is just scared to move over into db drag because in the class he is in in usaci, currently holding the record, he would be about 8 db down from the record in db drag. Lol, just messing with ya Adrian, both sanctioning bodies have gotten a bit rediculous but I still have fun so I'll continue to support db drag.

Another intelligent post which will probably be ignored...
With regard to these replies about changing the system, the rules about the system location, box location, etc. are already in effect and that had no f'n anything to do with my point that there should be a cutoff date for equipment as well, and if 100,000 competitors/wannabees and all the dbdrag judges in the world can't figure out whether or not a piece of equipment is legal or not for a class by the cutoff date then "LAME" isn't a strong enough word.
And who cares how many boards an amp has? If it can deliver 100,000 watts to a SINGLE PAIR what's the F'N difference? Brought to you by "The Peanut Gallery".
Good job Greg!

I believe we should probably remove the restrictions on the internal construction of the amp. The battery and conductor rule is probably sufficient.
