I have joined the elite group of battery exploders!
My front batt {12 volt} got into the power steering pump and ate a hole in the bottom which in turn goes back to my TURBOSTARTS on 1 of the 12 volt posts and BLEW the one batt apart!
VERY LOUD!

I was standing next to the Yota when Danny was pulling it in the shop, then I heard the BOOM. I thought,"What the f*ck was that!?!?" We thought it had blown a tire or something. Then we saw the battery puking all over the place.
That sucked. I didn't like it.

I blew up a battery drag racing once. I had an HO alt but recently sold my system and went to the track. Took a good pass and BOOOM! Shook the crap out of my truck. I thought I toasted the motor.

We lost several of ours last season in the old Bronco. Until now, I thought we were the only one having problems. Ours are old and have really been beat up in transporting.

Is this a Turbostart problem or has anyone seen other batteries do this?
More specifically Optima Yellow Tops. I will soon have three of them only running 12v and not really punishing them to badly but just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with an Optima?
