I don't know if this question fits this section butthis is a question for the judges from the 2001 finals. I was just wondering, what Hz leval were most of the winners using when they burped there note? Were they high Hz levels or low? Again I am sorry if I am in the wrong section...

They were between 30 Hz and 80 Hz.

But then again,
The losers were also between 30 Hz and 80 Hz., unless the system didn't turn on.

62HZ here, but most of the extreme's vehicles were between 70HZ and 78HZ. It all depends on the set up, and what you tune it too. Hope this helps.

Teamnise1, would say that most of the winning competitors were using Hz levals in the high 60Hz low 70Hz?

See I am trying to design a box but there are two sides tellin me how to do it. The way I designed and built it was 14.2 c/f and 400 s/in port area tuned to like 55 - 60 Hz. I am able to drop that port area and go down to about 40Hz. Now one of the people that are tellin me what to do has a meter but they just got this meter last year so they haven't even been doing dB Drag as long as me and they say my port is to big and I need three ports for three subs. The other has been installing systems for years but as far as I know not SPL systems, and they say my port needs to be tuned low because thats how you win competitions. Now What I need to know is which one should I listen to because to me they are both dip sticks and don't know how to get SPl. They just know what it is. I think by tunning my box in the high 50's low 70's range I can give them a s*&% load of power and drive the soud waves right to the mic. What do you think?

Judging by what I've seen both here, and at shows, the Extreme vehicles higher resonance (65-75hz) seems to be due to the flex-free cab, and the Street/SS vehicles seem to do better at lower fq.s, 45-55hz, where cab resonance due to the flexi doors, windows, and floor/roof seems to dictate a lower burp fq.

155dB @ 53hz, one Zapco 9.0, two Kicker L7 12", Street 1-2.
