I am in no way affiliated with the industry, other than just being a competitor. If I purchase a TermPro meter, can I host or promote shows???????

If I can, what exactly do I have to do??

I know I can purchase the meter, but to have sanctioned shows, are there anything else I have to take care of first??

I am from Cali, but here in Central Cali, there has not been a sanctioned show in my immediate area since Dec of 1998. When I first arrived here Feb of 2000 there was supposed to be a show that same month, but it was cancelled due to rain , when I called the shop, they told me that they would not probably have another one until next year.

Thanks.... Just trying to promote the industry..........

In my brief foray as a show promotor, I'd suggest two things:

  • Find a custom car show or car club that hosts a custom car show to co-hold your event
  • Hire Clay Nelson

You might get the custom car show to offset Clay's fee, OR you might decide that you want to run your own and become a show promoter.

If you want to get a shop involved, try to put a package together where they sponsor the event in conjunction with a local carshow. That might be your best bet, get someone to offset Clay's modest fee.

Now that I think about it, Clay was talking about holding some SPL/carshows too.

The Central Coast used to be a real hotbed of activity. I have attended no less than 30 IASCA events over there, but none since 1998, and 20 of them were in 1988-1990. I know that there were more events over there than that I didn't attend.

I know it has potential again.
