Ok, right now I compete in SS 1-2NW, but I'm supposed to be the SS 1-2 wall class because my box is only about 1" above that imaginary plain where the window is, and according to the rules, if its above the window, your considered to have a wall..... Now I think that’s a good rule, but come on, 1"???. Anyways, because of this rule I was thinking about dropping down into the STREET class. Now for the main question... Now I know that the STREET 1-2 can only have ONE amp and 3-4 can have only TWO amps, but what if you had TWO 12's and TWO amps, would that automatically put you into Super Street, or could you compete in the STREET 3-4 class, but only have TWO subs???? I just want to know, because I'm really thinking about dropping my 15's and going with 12's, due to the fact that I would have a hard time keeping a pair of 15's below the windows. Anyways, even if I can't compete in STREET 3-4, I still might just do 12's and compete in the SS 1-2 NW, Well let me know what you guys think about this, Thanks.

With 2 amplifiers (and only two drivers), you could compete in the street 3-4 class. Of course, this is not an "official" comment, but rather an personal opinion.
According to the 2001 rules, we had 4 1-2 woofer classes: Street 1-2, SSNW1-2, SS 1-2, and Extreme 1-2.
We would then count the number of amps to see which one of these classes to put you in.
I would guess your box would then be below the window being as you said you were wanting to go into street class, therefore, based on the number of woofers, number of amps, and size and location of your enclosure, that would put you into SSNW.

In my earlier comment, I was assuming that the new enclosure would reside in the trunk/behind the seats. Steve is correct ( for once )that if the enclosure for the 12" drivers remains in the same location as your enclosure for the 15" drivers, then you are only making a change in driver size.
Steve's comments brings up another (or similar) question. If someone has an enclosure in the trunk of a vehicle, two 10" drivers, and two amplifiers....shouldn't that vehicle be allowed in the street 3-4 (becasue of the quantity of amps)?

I know thats a good idea Sid, but I don't believe it is a legal one. You must have the correct equipment to compete in the class that you wish to compete in.

SOxLOWxITxHTZ, you only need to put 225/80/XXs( whatever rim size you have) tires on the front, and 195/45/XXs tires on the rear, you'll get that inch you need...
Or wait for the new 2002 rules, maybe it will be changed, I heard some talk about rear window height, but ...we'll see

Well the reason why I was going to drop to the 12's is because I only have 14" of height in my space. I have a 85 S10 Blazer and the cargo space is 47"L x 27"W x 14"H so therefore I only have 14" of height to work with, to ensure that the box stays below the window. This is why I wanted to drop tho 12's, because its kinda hard to keep 15" sub under 14"s of space.... The other thing is I wanted to keep my subs firings backwards, and not up. So I hope this kinda clears somethings up, If you have anymore opinions, please let me know.

put a slant on your box where you want your woofers to be, then you could have your 15"subs in the 14" height
