Ok, I'm tired of hearing all the great scores coming from CRX's, exp's, panda's, Smart's etc etc...

So what is the loudest "normal" street A car around? ie- not one of the above or similar... Hatch, or sedan, either one...

My vote would be for Mike Stiers hitting 151.5 from his trunk, no Zapco 4Kw, just a pair of DDs and D2s!

Gotta love those "D"s! [Big Grin]

DD's? I thought Mike was using American Bass subs.

I did do a 146.5 on the new mics in my Focus hatchback, two 12" subs and a pair of MTX amps, but that wasn't at a multi-point show. I'm very proud of that number though, as most of the loudest Street vehicles are two seaters.

are the ford focus hatchback zx3's a 2 seater? I went to the grocery store the other day and saw one and I looked in the back and there were no rear seats and alot of room for a nice box it looked.

They have rearseats. The one you saw must have had the rear seats folded down. Unless they were taken out.

I'm sorry for any confusion, that was my first show using those subs so I wanted to make it clear about what equipment I was using at SPL MAX. I will be posting some updated pics of my Neon in a bit. My teammate, Geo-X, and I worked hard today to get the Neon back in shape for the lanes. I want to hit a single this Friday and the double here in Ohio next week before I hand her over to the body shop. [Frown]

They are all still very small cars. Mine is a full size 4-door made in 1965! My trunk is 6 feet wide! The length of the cabin itself rivals the length of most compact cars. And I hit 140.5 dB's.

Referring to the earlier post, yes the ZX3 Focus has rear seats. The bench is on a hinge, so it can be swung up, allowing the rear seats to lay flat. If only I could build a box that big! What a great car though.....I love it.

I think he has the bigggest and loudest (state-side) street A vehicle!

Can't wait to see what Eric does at Finals!!!!

Personally I think all the numbers mentioned are impressive for the most part. I will say I think it is far more impressive to fill the larger cabin of that explorer to that level of SPL than it is fill a crx or a smart 1/3 of its size.

Explorer....not a normal vehicle??? [Confused] It is only the world's best selling SUV!!! Plus, it is only a midsized SUV, and I'm not even sure if Eric's is a 4WD.

So if they seat is on a hinge and can be folded down then why dont you do it? As long as it is behind the rearmost doorjamb. I know pickuptrucks with jumpseats can fold them in so they can build boxes.
