The better the emissions level of your car, the less you pay taxes - and the SMART is performing the hardest emision level (and as far as I heard, this level is harder than any american standart). So I'm sure if you'll get one, it will meet the emision standards, but I'm not sure if the deparments will know this And - for Americans nearly not interesting - it take very low gas (especiially the DIESEL, but I don't know if DIESEL is as cheap as the gas). (The diesel takes 3,4 Liters per 100 km - that's about 70 Miles per Gallon) Üüüühh!!! We got rid of that about 2 years ago!!!
