I dunno, seems a little hardcore for Mini-Street. Maybe I'm wrong [Confused] ...all I know is he whooped my ass and is nearly twice as loud as me [Wink] . Well, most people are twice as loud as me anyways. [Mad]

PS - What type of vehicle? Looks like CRX, but can't tell for sure.

I also don't understand how he was allowed to run 16 volts? I thought Street and Mini-Street had to stay like 12.5 volts or lower??? And I also thought we could only replace our stock underhood battery???

In street class you can run up to 18 volts on a 12 volt system.

I'm so confused, I still don't see how he was allowed those extra batteries?

He was allowed because its Mini Street. This class don't go to finals. This class doesn't accure points. This is a local class for local competitors.

Retailers can make up their classes however they see fit.

We've tried to get the kid to make the jump ( which all competitors in the midwest know the diffence between national and mini street ). This kid doesn't care about World Finals ( at this time [Wink] ) and is happy being the 'loud kid on the block'.

This same person started off last year doing 43's on old meter w/ differnt vehicle. Now he's doing 48's on new meter w/ car he purchased cause it was louder! ( basically, we got mini street kids thinking about car stereo before they buy their next car )

I should also add that his wife has also bought a Honda and she competes in MSD1. They do this as a team and we even had a Mini Street Death Match between the both of them with the wife winning ( handicapped score )

This is just proof that mini street works.

Damn, that does sound pretty sweet. Our problem down here is we just don't have the competitors. So, as a result of that there are very few competitions. Definitely WAY less than last year! It pisses me off 'cause this is my frist year competing. I bring in a few competitors here and there slowly, but we need more shops to hold competitions. We just don't have enough willing to spend the money, the greedy bastards act like holding a $500 event is going to destroy their business. If anything, it's going to help them!

*I wish every event was like the first event I ever went to. It was an IASCA event held last year at Sound Advice here in my town. They advertised a little on the radio, and also word of mouth...but I swear to God there was a huge crowd and like 40 competitors! That first show was the best show I've ever been to...

Who ever said this was for beginners only?

I hate cry babies! If you are coming into this sport expecting a class that is easy to win just cause you are new then maybe you should find a different hobby.

Rick, you live in California, what works in Cali for you guys works in Cali for you guys.

What works in Missouri works in Missouri. If we choose to have competitors able to run 16 volts in MSD then so be it, if you don't like it then don't drive 1800 miles and compete in mini street in MISSOURI.

That's the beauty of mini street, it has no pre-determined rules and can be set up in the best intrests of the local competitors.

Otherwise go to shows out in Cali, have a blast and we'll do the same out here.

You have got to be kidding me, that was the whole reason for mini street was to get "newbies" into this.

and here we go with the name calling again...............I am not being a cry baby, as I could care less about mini street, it has nothing to do with me, I am just stating that if Wayne started the "mini" street to get newbies into dBdrag, and you have people with systems like posted above coming out an whooping everyones ass, how is that gonna do anything for the newbie? 148.3dB on the new mics? [Eek!] give me a break........you gonna tell me that THAT system was built for street pounding, everyday use? I think not.

Dude, why wouldn't he build a vehicle for competition if that's what he wanted to do with it?

There are girls hitting 147+ in MSD around here and others around 145-146's. None of them happened to show up for this show though.

We have fun at our shows even if we don't take first place all of the time.

Lets see ...

Hightest - Jeff does a 148.3 sitting in his vehicle w/ motor on
Next - Tara does a 146.9
Then - Michael does a 145.3

These are our leaders ( that I can think of ) in the Midwest. These are all beginners. I have always stated that we have serious competitors in the midwest! These scores shouldn't surprise anyone ... they don't us in the midwest anymore.

Ok, so they're loud. When do you tell a local competitor that spends money at shops that he's to loud to compete against his friends? "Sorry, even though your local ( and don't care about finals ), you now have to run national, get beat most of the time, and possible take points away from 'not so loud' street competitors."

"Not only that, but now you have to redo your system, change your box, purchase a remote control for your head unit and stand outside your vehicle. Your 148.3 will now drop to 144 dB. Have a good day."

Do you think this person will be happy? No. Would he and his wife quit competing because of this, probally. ( There goes a husband and wife activity )

Rick, in the past 2 years of Mini Street in the Midwest, your the 3rd person that has complained. The other 2 were competitors at the show, that did complain, but once explained the rules, they went on to trophy at the show.

As Jliehr said, what works in California doesn't always apply to other parts of the US.

How are you going to get screwed? Your signature says you want to do a good number in Street A. The mini-street class is a different class. Maybe you should read the rules and then come back and argue your point.
