This is something I thought of during my four-minute drive home for lunch break, so forgive me if the 95 degree heat has warped my pea brain. I propose a split of the Steet classes to: Street A, Street B, Street A Pro, Street B Pro (could be Street C, street D?). How about a sort of "move-up" rule where anyone who scored 100+ points in the previous year cannot compete in Street A and B, thus moving them up to Street Pro A and B. Mini-Street is a great idea for bringing in absolute novices, but there is too big of a gap between the Street and Super Street classes (even no-wall).

I'm not getting into this whole thing again, it's just too much to do again, but I did want to point one thing out. Moving people out of Street just because of the amount of points they have is not even fair. You coming from So. Cal should watch what you ask for. You guys in the past and even this year have far more shows then a lot of places, therefore you could take like 3rd or 4th at numerous shows and be well over 100 pts, and therefore be bumped out. Now I don't think that is what you would want, now is it?

Point taken Firefly, but keep in mind that I am on pace for over 100 points this season, so I'm suggesting this for the good of the organization I have several friends who may be interested in competing next year (as rookies) and I'd like to see them actually have a chance to win some 3rd place trophies like I've been doing in '03. I'll drop it now, but I can't stand seeing 19 competitors and 100 spectators at shows...especially when 40 of those 81 spectators have decent systems themselves Posts: 494 | From: So Cal | Registered: Jul 2000

I agree Joey even though it would bump me up next year.... maybe instead of more "Street Classes" add a 2nd No-Wall class... Street A cars/trucks could go 1-2NW after earning >100 points in the previous season. Street B cars/trucks could go 3-4NW. That would only add one more class and keep the "Street" class to the less experienced everyday cars. The only successful mini-street competitions I've seen were El Cajon, Ca. and Las Vegas, NV.

LOL. I'm all for "Super Street 1-2 No Wall/Married" for those of us whose wives keep watchful eye on credit card statements and such. Or maybe there should be "Super Street 1-2 No Wall/so poor that he has to sell his Game Cube and PDA to buy new crappy amps". I'm guessing that I wouldn't be the only competitor in that class.

Why not "spil" the street classes a little.
My proposals:
- Street A: 1 Subwoofer up to 12" an 1 Amp with a max. of 2 channels
- Street B: 2 Sub up to 12" or a single 15" and ONE amp up to 2 channels
- Street C: This year's street A
- Street D: This year's street B
This would add 2 smaller classes to the official ones and makes it easier to entry the official competition.
If 2 additional classes would be too much, then I'd prefer that above written Street A to be the added one.
Üüüühh!!! Matze

Instead, they should keep it the way it is, with a few simple changes. Street should be renamed super street, superstreet should be called modified, and ministreet should be called street. And points should be tracked in street with a chance at finals and all.

I give up on Street. I'm picking up a dozen Realistic subs tomorrow and going to Extreme 9+. Hasta la vista.

I agree that it needs to be broken up a little better. Mini-street has never been promoted at any competition I've been to either. Unfortunately, no one who has power over all this really seems to care anything about Street and everyone just says f*ck it all the time. So in my opinion, someone either finds a solution for all of this or you will just see more and more competitors drop out as the years go by. There's so many factors that come into play, but no one seems to ever care so what's the point in stating them...

if mini street is not working in your area then it is not being promoted right!!!
I have had 3 show all in excess of 25+ competitors and over half are mini street!!!

There is some truth to this. There are only 2 street classes. With all the recent articles about DB Drag, never a mention of street vehicles, you would'nt even know there are any. DB Drag is centered on extreme vehicles. If you want more emphesis on street classes, another orginization would probaly suit you better.

maybe someday, there will be fan and media focus on the other classes besides extreme.
Extreme puts up the big numbers, just like top fuelers do in the NHRA. But the difference is that Funny Car and Pro Stock have huge fan bases and losts of attention.
Personally, I like Funny Cars the most. In a similar way, I like to watch the SuperStreet vehicles in DBDRA the most.
Even though I'm a street guy, a badass SuperStreet vehicle is much more exciting than the extremes!!!
