is there more money involved in holding a local comp as compared to a sanctioned comp? whether it is a drag or a usaci.

we are trying hard to get the local shops to see that it would be worth it to hold sanctioned, but are running into brick walls.

today at the local i got into an argument with the shop owner at the local over rules they used and using the drag logo and pointing ppl to the drag site for info, but using their own brand of rules.

so i am trying to put something toghether to get the ball rolling to show them there is interest around here and how messed their rules are.

with drag there still is the MSD class that they can do to work with the locals who might not fair well with the big boys, but still can compete and have fun.

any help is appreciated.

With Retail Membership you can organize official dB Drag racing events.

It is not mandatory to have Termpro meter for single point event, but if you are serious competitor, than you need one for tuning. Talk to your friends and ask them to participate for TP meter [Wink]

Retail membership cost $100 with that membership you can have up to 8 events per year. You still need a judge, prizes, and promotion. Different people charge different amounts to judge a show. We do them for free in some areas and for our dealers. That is not the normal charge for most promoters though. It cost us and them money to do shows. Hotels, travel expenses, and the like. We right it of as advertising. They don't have that option. Most of the rates I have seen are reasonable when you really think about it.
