i would have some 4 ya but when i got there i was a tad shocked to see it would cost an amatuer 50 bucks just to enter. and it would have been 40 just for me and a buddy to get in..... and they wonder why the dbdrag sport isnt catching on like it should... id rather save 50 to put towards better equip than spend that much there.

$40 or $50 is still cheeper than the $65 I spent at Reynolds; besides it is a 3X what do you want it to be free? Come on.

Last year the nopi shows were 45 but that did not include any one other than the competitor entry this year they raised the price 20 and included a co pilot entry( btw) normal admission is 25 just to spectate at a nopi event. Somebody has to pay for that prize money that the racers get.

no, not a serious competitior and thats why... ya a 3x event is worth it to the people who live for db drag and thats great. but if the sport is expected to grow, it needs to be alittle bit more reasonable to amatuers who want to see what they can do on the mic and see if they want to get more into the sport. i went to my fist comp last weekend and took 2nd in my class. 25 bucks was reasonable and i had a good time... didnt even stick around to see if i got a trophy because the event was so unorganized and drug out for way too long. but oh well, i'll take pride in knowing i have a decent sytem that was all done by me and is as loud as ppl who spent 2-3 times as much for theirs.

That's why you go to local shows that retailers hold. 2x and 3x shows are for national level competitors that 'are' serious and live for dbdrag. I, as a competitor, expect to pay 2-3 times that of a single point event at one of these shows. It comes with the territory.

I feel all you guys on this...do expect to pay for those events, however, the last 3x event (which was at a smaller retail store) I went to was last year...it was only 30-35 bucks and a three hour drive Im not trying to start a debate or anything, but it just makes me wonder where all the money goes. But I will still pay to play

from what i remember> ss1-2 158.2 jeff sheric 157.9 team xss ss3-4 158.8 ?? x1 team superior sound 171.4 171.5 and 171.5 x2 me 160.4 x3-4 scott van riper 163?\ x5-8 team baldman 170.4 170.5 eric parsley 168s jamie 155.9 missed all the 9+ but think all three of them where between 67-69s?
1st Team Audioworx 168.2 2nd Edge Audio 168.3 3rd some kicker van whose score I can't remember
Also Team Aztec was not DQd...what happened was they were going against some guy who was hitting 142s in teh semi finals and the metering went wrong so they stopped the clock and gave the people 5 minutes to charge...so Eddy took the EXP to his charger and charged it...to do that he disconnected his 4kw first and then when he came back into the lanes he forgot to reconnect the power to the 4kw so he didn't register a score and ended up loosing.
Also Superior sounds hit a 168.x then a 171.4 then a 171.5 and then a couple more scores...but only the 168.x and the 171.4 were counted as legit scores because after all their runs wre done Sam checked the CD and they had in dbjams volume 5 so he didn't allow the other scores to count...only the first two

i will agree with others that you need to go to the local shows first ... lets put it in perspective ... have you ever called and asked how much it costs for a 3x event? .... lets put it this way if you had 30 people at $75 each you still would not break even ... plus you still need the trophies .... ever get a cost on trophies?
to run events it is very, very, very expensive.
so in my opinion $50 is a very cheap price for a 3x event ....
many people in my local area compeating in the ministreet classes ,,, went to the 3x at nopi this weekend ... spent the 65 with no problems ... and i applaud everyone of them for going and trying at a national level.
