ok, i just got a 98 grand prix and i'm street 1-2. right now i am running prefab box because i just want a little low end sound. but what is the best box design for 2 12's in this car? the car has that 12" wide 15" tall pass through in the middle of the back seat. i was thinking of building the box to have the subs firing out that pass through with a design like so

of course this wouldn't be the actual dimensions, just a rough idea. i'm thinking my main problem would be the subs canceling each other out in the exit chamber. looking for input.

what you are playing with there is kind of a bandpass and you cant predict how it will work without sub parameters and box dimension. you wouldnt think it is a bandpass but it is. if you really want to get my opinion on a good box come check us out, i am sure you have heard of us. we had a competitor in street go to the finals (2000) and bring home a 4ft trophy. if you don't know how to get ahold of us email me at jellis@valkyrie.net. trust me if you dont believe in us now talk to us for a minute you will believe.

The big problem will be getting a large box THROUGH the opening into the trunk.

You may want to consider a design which can be assembled in the trunk. This will be difficult to build and even worse to tune.

Always a give and take.....

i also have a grand prix on dubs though. 2 12" SI magnum d2's i want to use the pass through for more spl and i took the stock 6x9's out for 2 holes in the rear deck. got louder after that. i want atleast 2.5 cubes for each sub. i measured and the biggest big i could even fit would be a 4.5 cube... the trunk can fit bigger...much bigger 6 cubes but i wouldnt be able to get it in. what is jellis?
