I agree with Matt. If everyone is not able to get the amp with the mod, then it is not "commercially available".

P.S. If you hate this forum, go away.

Yes but it is still commercially available. I do not know Ian, but I do agree with him. Most mods that done to amps can be done by anybody who lives near radio shack. You can "mod" a 2000X by clipping three diodes. You can mod a D2 by soldering in 2 caps. So what should be done? Buy the comercially available amp and then just have the manufacturer tell you what to do. It is still commercially availble right?

I have a problem with speaker companies making voice coil configurations and other things that can not be done by the end user. One of the only mods I care to mention that can be done to a speaker is adding some plumbers dum-dum to the cone (behind the dust cap of course) to change the woofers dB rating. For anyone who cares to know, my cat,Morris, who is a former competitor told me that!

How many Crossfire competitors had a missing chip in their amp? How many other amps were tweaked to be stable with 16 volts? How many subs had to be slightly modified so their spiders wouldn't fall apart? You hear tons of stories. Many people know what took place.

But it's February now! We are a month away from the unofficial start of the real 2002 season. Who cares what happened at finals this year? If you sit around all year whining about what so and so did then come 2002 finals you're gonna get beat. Worry about your car and this year. Not the past.

Mr. Riley; anyone CAN get this "mod" done,(and most did) and if you were at Finals, you would know this. Besides, a D2 is a D2 is a D2...and a D2 is NOT a 4Kw!

You are right, a 4KW is a hell of a lot better amp than a D2.

P.S.P.S 4KW's were available mid-summer and available to anyone who wanted one. You just had to take the right avenues, much like you have to in order to get a modded D2.

Funny...seems to me Terry Brocks attempted to get his hands on one to no avail.

Besides, for the price of one of those things it SHOULD be a hell of a lot better!

BTW, if any company builds a neat little "case" and plops TWO maps inside, whether it be Earthquake, Jenson or anyone else and puts a price of $5000+ on it and calls it a "Standard" issue available to anyone, so be it.

We ALL know this type of thing is no way to win in the STREET class.

I am sure this is a fine amp, just not a legitimate "commercially available to anyone" piece.

Boy...am I glad we are no longer competing in Street Class...it was indeed Fun while it lasted but now it is time for Bigger and better things!

ok, so can we get back to the original intent of this post? in case anyone was wondering, it wasn't intended to be place to argue about what went on in the street class at finals. it was intended to be a place to drop your comments on the NEW season's rules. i don't care what happened in the street pit stalls at finals, and that has nothing to do with this. if you think they should allow equipment swaps, vote for it, my problem is with the wording of it. it can be interpreted as ANY changes to the vehicle at all, and i don't think that was wayne's intent.

can i get a mod to "clean up" this post please?
thanks

O wait, just cause people actually had to pay for the Signature Series, and werent handed them for free, that makes them Unavailable. I think not. Anyone that wants to buy some Signature Series subs, please feel free to email me at any time.

How would you know whats available or not? Last time I checked you never tried to purchase any Shocker Audio Subwoofers ever.

Until you recieve a paycheck from Shocker Audio, and you truely have a clue what goes on at Shocker Audio, I highly suggest you stop the little BS comments here and there.

Thanks

Ben

4KW's were available for purchase also. I know Charles Estes purchased one, I don't have his phone number off hand but if you would like to inquire about purchasing it, I will look for it. Also Pure Sound in Ozark, MO or Sweet Sounds in Mankato, MN would be more than glad to help you in purchasing a 4KW.

I don't have a desire to purchase any Shocker Woofers or Signature Series for that matter, which is besides the point. But from reading things before finals, SA was unable to be contacted by anyone inquiring about their woofers. I'm sure Mr. Hughes can attest to that fact, also beside the point.

Quite honestly, I could care less about acquiring a 4KW or any Shocker woofer.

Thank you and have a nice day.

I thought I would quote your kind words so that they would stay up for posterity. What a great way to promote your product. I hope that all people who want to buy Shocker Audio equipment see this and know the true professionalism that you exude!!!

And if you decide to hack and change it, I have it copied.
