Im not sure if this is the right place to post this but my question is. Would I get disqualified if I turned the back rest of my back seat into an amp rack? It would be the same size as the stock seat and would function just the same. Space is super limited and my only other two places I think I could mount it is on the ceiling or under the front seats. Neiter of which I want to do.

if your amp rack DOES NOT interfear with the normal operation of the seats then you should have no problem.

You can mount amps, equipment, etc to the back of your seat, HOWEVER, you can't modify the seat (cut out, etc) to do it. Also, when your seat has to be able to fold up all the way with the amp mounted to it without moving the box.

What I want to do is remove the padding and carpet on the front side and replace it with the amps. I would build it up so it would be the same size. I dont think it will need the whole surface area for two small amps. My sub box takes up the whole hatch area, right up to the back of the seat. So if it all has to fit with NO modification, then I will be disqualifed or bumped into SS 1-2 which I dont want.

No, that is not permitted in street as you are modifying the seat. Sounds like your only other option is to go under the seats or modify your box.

sounds like you need a smaller box or to put the amps somewhere else. Generally the words cutting and removing refer to modifications and are not allowed. Basically if the factory didn't intend you to do this when they build the car, then it is a mod. The only allowable ones I know off the top of my head are removing the spare tire/jack and building a box that uses that, but then again, the factory intended you to remove the spare and jack.
