I just returned from the Charlotte DB Drags.
I was very impressed with some of the stuff I saw.
Team Hertz, eventhough very secretive, had a impressive Rabbit doing 163 with 2 15's.

Mike Barfield was as nice as he always is, answering questions and being a good sport.

There was alot of competition in the lower 2 woofer class, 163,160,156,155,152...WOW!

It was a decent show!
Too bad I got sunburned to death! OUCH!

Later guys!

WTF...We don't even see those scores in 9+ class in WI. We've (WI folk) have a blazer doing 165s but other than that, NOTHING. It seems that we are a little behind in this industry. That's still unbelievable though, 160s with 2 subs. I too have just entered that class and WILL be doing those numbers. It's no holds barred now folks, time to take off the kid gloves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hear ya cow. Here in the Northwest I have yet to see anyone break 160 and only a few people have broken 150. Hopefully there will be some good competition on the 20th in Bellevue.

I have a question, does anybody out there have pictures of any of the cars that are breaking 160 with two subs? I have no intentions of coppying, I just want to see how negotiated the passanger compartments are. Is it cab mods or EXTREME cab mods? Just curious!!!! I hate cab mods but I guess that I can live with them. (now if you have cab mods, don't take this as an insult............just cause I don't like em)

Being a local I had to go to the show this past weekend in Charlotte. Congrats Team Hertz on the new record (way to spank that other Rabbit). It was nice to finally meet you guys. Definitly will hang out when I get to Newport. Thunder, you da man! Didn't see what the Breadtruck did in the final round, but hey anything is good for a truck that doesn't exist, right ?

The Team Hertz Rabbit was heavily modified and gray (cause gray is louder than other colors ), that is all I will say. Mike, Nicole, or Kevin can go into more detail at their own leisure.

Here is a couple answers to some questions:

1. We will have pics on the net soon, hold tight. Anyone who took pics at Pittsburgh or NC, we are still looking for them on the net!

2. Our rabbit is heavily modified, but 100% within the current dB Drag Racing rules. In order to post big numbers you almost have to.

3. Secretive,...not really. We were happy to show anyone who asked. We won't pull a sub out for ya but everyone is always welcome to look inside. The shirts over the windshield were there to keep the cabin from roasting in the HOT sun. I know that many people took close-up interior pics...hope to see them on the net somewhere!

4. Sunburn.....yes us too!

5. It was cool to meet people I have talked to on this forum in the past. Do keep in touch Winslow....and yes, it was cool slam the other rabbit...you know what I mean.

6. a 163 dB is good but we are not stopping there

When I attended that show in Pittsburgh, I too was amazed by both the look and score of the Team Hertz Rabbit...

Keep Up the Good Work!

So uh, when are you guys stopping? 180's? ahhh...cool!

how bout stopping at 2 atmospheric pressures? (whats that, 194 db?)

I think instead of the death penalty in some states, there sound be a dB penalty... The people on death row are subjected to 24 hours of Intense 170+db in a vehicle (government assisted ) , or lethal injection...

What kind of idea is that?

Secretive? Man the rabbit was the first car that I saw on Sunday. Got out of my car and walked straight to it and asked unknown guy with a Team Hertz shirt on, "So is this the Rabbit that I have been hearing about on Wayne's World?" The guy said yes, asked who I was, then told me who he was (was KRambo), introduced me to Mike and Nichole, and showed me the whole car.

The only negative feedback I encountered about their Rabbit was from the person who I was standing next to when Team Hertz set the new record. Not to name any names, but, I guess that she was mad because her silver Bronco that had (at the time) 46 PPI 10s didn't hit as hard as the Team Hertz Rabbit. She may have been preoccupied, I don't know, but I would be mad that a $3000 car kicked a $300,000 truck's butt. First impressions mean a lot, and I didn't have a good one with her. Oh well, just my opinion, so don't start bashing me because of it.

TinyTunes,
I will try my best to answer you in the most professional manner possible. I will start word for word on your reply. Questions do get answered. If you have some hot pressing question that must get answered...ask it right now, right here. We would be more than happy to answer. As for the ports...why do you want to look in our ports? Its a ported box, do you want our enclosure volume, port length, port area and if need be our tuning frequency, so you can make your rabbit a sister? That is the only reason we covered the ports. We came up with a design that works well for us and I encourage you to work real hard on a design to be louder. Innovation drives competition "Helping out our fellow DD guys"? May I ask what that is supposed to mean? Chad (a fellow DD guy) had all the help he wanted from us. He built his system almost overnight, and who was there when he needed a hand to drop the subs in, borrow a drill, carry his HEAVY "cage" bracing...should I go on?
As for promoting woofer classes, YES sure did! We also promoted a stock interior class to go along with that. Don't worry the classes will soon change, and when they do, let us know what class you are planning to be in... I am sorry that some people feel that "it is not fair", but if you were in our shoes, what would you do. Do you want us to double our woofers and double our power and leave the 2 woofer class? (I wonder what the rabbit will hit then).
As for the comment..."Alot of people would be pissed if they found out just how good of a deal DD is giving 'Team Hertz'." Well we were waiting for someone to say something like that. What kind of a deal are we getting? I would like to know too. If you think we are getting free stuff you are out of your mind. We bring ALL OF OUR RECEIPTS FOR EVERYTHING IN THE CAR TO EVERY SHOW! I mean come on, We have a very inexpensive car compaired to everyone else. Besides, if we were getting such a "good deal" why would we only use 2 woofers. Why not 4 and break the 170 dB mark. Just because someone does well people think that they must be getting "a good deal".
"Quit taking the easy way, and run with the big boys"...well, when you say that it just makes yourself look bad. No person likes complainers. We would feel honored to compete with the "big boys" one day....wouldn't you?
"Too bad you got people mad, I am sure someone will beat you guys soon." ...if someone does beat us, will you treat them the same way you are treating us right now? That is something for everyone to shoot for. When someone does legally beat us, I will be the first to shake his/her hand.

I hope that I answered your questions and replied to your comments in a way that reflects our team. If I have offended you or anyone please let me or Team Hertz know and we will do the best we can to clear the air. If you need to talk to me please E-mail me or Mike or Nichole.

Kevin is 100% right. We, as a team, try our hardest to be the best we can and help others. You need our help dropping subs in...we are there, you need to borrow a sawzall....take it. We are not here to make enemies.

Tiny, your attitude has changed since I seen you at NC. You seemed like you were a nice guy. If we were so secretive, why did we let you videotape the interior of the car?

I would also like to know what kind of deal we received from DD.

I really dont want anyone to be upset over the car. If you have any questions or remarks, just let us know. Wayne and Brantley got to look in the car, so if there are any concerns about cheating, just ask them.

Ackkkkk after the bronce bashing post I gota put my 2 cents in. I have nothing at all against team hertz, they worked hard and the rabbit and it shows plain and simple. What I do think is that they should split classes by cabin mods. IMO that really hurts all the entry level people, meaning they work hard but dont have the cash to go all out and then get killed by someone with a decked out spl car. About the bronce. WTH is all that the bronco is a bronce still. The team hertz rabbit its metal with mdf guts. the bronce is = spl with style, rabbit = crazy ugly spl Anyway Team Hertz is going to have some hard times when the new team gates vehicle rumbles around! "Hopefully it will be under team gates :P"

Tiny,
I just want to clear up the comment that the subs were free. The only person from DD that was at the show was Jess. The two other guys were along for the ride. If anyone doubts us, please call DD direct @ 1-888-56-DIGIT.

Since we knew this car was going to be very competitive in the 1-2 sub class, we made sure EVERYTHING was paid for and we kept ALL receipts.

Also Tiny, when you asked me about box specs, I told you to wait until Ralph showed up. He is the guy to talk to and I told you that.

Doughboy, I completely understand your point and we know how it feels for the "stock" competitors. Everyone knows that in order to be very competitive, the interior has to be modified.

Hey Tiny, is that Rhino-liner type truck bed liner spray what you are referring to? That looks like what I have seen in a few vehicles, including Brantley's van...

I feel really bad because of what I had to read. How can you say Team Hertz is making some enemies. They have been a blessing for db drag and me specially. They have achieved all with great effort and dedication. Is it bad to be the loudest? First was Alma and the talk was the money they spent, then it was JH and still nobody leaves him alone, then Tim Maynor bacame the hated one, and now is Mike, Kevin and the team. I think if it keeps like that then I'll have to forget about the finals. What will happen if I win? Will I be the most hated?
I was teached to don't get to deep water if I didn't knew how to swimm. Lets be wise, lets respect each other to avoid problems.
In this case I really know how to swimm and the waters where I am, and I will not like to see anybody in waters they don't know or to deep for them.
I'll put it this way, "play at your own risk".....
