The equipment that is permissable in dB Drag Racing is not determined by the owner's or staff of the company in question.
Products that meet the criteria as outlined in the rule book will be permitted in competition. I believe the big problem with regards to the Shocker brand has to do with the custom nature of the product. The dB Drag Racing rule book clearly states that all components must be commercially available. The intent of this rule is that ANY competitor should be able to purchase ANY product for use in competition. Last season we were lenient with regards to this issue as the rule wasn't as clearly defined as it should have been. In 2002, this rule will be clarified to the point where there can be no misunderstanding regarding the "commercially available" clause. If Shocker or any other company's product meets these requirements, then they will be permitted in competition.
In closing, please don't make this a Shocker Audio issue. It is simply a matter of enforcing existing rules on the book.
