How would this work for states that have no (or maybe one, if we are lucky) dBDRA events per season?

Only problem being everyone that wins should not just be allowed to go to finals.

It would be nice to have a state champion crowned though.

STATE RECORDS IS A BIG REASON WHY MECCA IS BECOMING MORE POPULAR. I THINK THIS WOULD BE A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. I BELIEVE IT WOULD BRING OUT A LOT MORE COMPETITORS,WHO MIGHT BE INTIMIDATED BY THE NATIONAL SCENE. IF NOT BY STATE LETS DO IT BY THE REGION, YOU KNOW THE USELESS SPACE THAT OCCUPIES THE STATS PAGE. PUT IT TO USE.

I believe the way it is now with certified score is about the best way, except instead of just using highest certified being there were several high #'s for certified such as ppl being certified with a 166+ andcould hardly hit a 160 at any other show, so maybe certified scores should be like records and have to be backed up to stand as a certified score.
As far as the state championships and so on yeah it wouldnt be a bad idea but it should not determine who goes to finals, BTW FL has a state championship already.

I personally would also like to see state championships be awarded .... As for the states that have very few shows if none at all .... That's a good Question ? Anyone out there have any input on how we could go about making this work for everyone?

Well, you might have to drive a little far to compete in another state, but if you are the certified loudest from your state, your the loudest,so your the champion of your state- a certificate should /would come directly from db drag.

This will arise the issue of people in OTHER states coming over to win! In oregon state "finals", there were a LOT of people from different states. Like Cali, Canada, Michigan, Washington, and there was 1 guy from Minnesota also i believe. There was a wide variety in people there. What do we do about that then? Jim Jean would be taking home a LOT more trophies than he already does! lol You'd have to find a way to proove that you are a state resident...But if the show is held somewhat on the border of 2 states (on the other side of the bridge for oregon and washington) then what would happen if Washington has no big events? They'd want to come down to oregon and steal our championships. Then what?
Only my opinion.

I think your cars registration should be your proof to enter an event ..But I'd still like to see if there's a way to work if your state doesn't have enough events or none at all what we would do... Any suggestions ????

Whats the prob? If someone else is louder- HEY its DB Drag racing - THEY WIN!- and if its in your state, and they are from another state you would get second at the show, but you would still be your state champeon, and they would be theirs.
Or maybe the trophy for state champeon would only be given out to someone from your state even if you only got 2nd- determined by drivers lisence or vehicle registration- and the normal 1st 2nd 3rd trophies given out to whoever did win.
I think anybody from anywhere should be let compete- but only the loudest from the same state could be that states champeon.
It would be way cool to go to other states and beat their champeon!

I have a sinus cold right now, so I may not be thinking clearly, but from reading your response...

The state champion results would be taken from your registration (vehicle or Driver Liscense), and not be directly linked to the state in which you aquired your winning score?

example: A competitor lives in a "low event" state(such as Louisiana). She competes in other states(such as Texas,Arkansas, Missouri), and wins in those states. Her score is recorded towards her state(Louisiana), and not towards the state in which she was in when she won the event(s). Her overall score is judged against other competitors (from her state) and not world wide.

The highest scoring competitors in the neighboring states will retain the state championship status (for their registered state), even if their scores were lower than someone from a different state.

example: A competitor (registered in Texas), attends a db Drag event in Texas. They rank second at the event, with the winning score given to a competitor from a neighboring state (such as Louisiana). If the two competitors (one from Texas and the other from Louisiana) have the highest scores recorded for thier own registered states, then the Texas competitor will have the Texas record, and the Louisiana competitor will have the louisiana record.

So, it would not matter what state a competitor attained their winning scores. It would be regulated more by what state the competitor is registered in.

Am I thinking correctly, or am I way off base on my assumption?

Youve hit the nail on the head.every state would have a champeon but they could still loose to someone at the state champeonship because its allways about the loudest at any show getting 1st and anyone should be able to compete anywhere they can drive to.
