This post is a perfect example of incorrect information.
1..The measurment was taken at the rear of the vehicle. NOT DIRECTLY AT THE ALTERATOR

2..We did this to many of the vehicles (the judging staff reserves the right to measure voltage anywhere in the system)

3.. The competitor went into the round knowing his voltage was dangerously close to 18 volts.

4..When the voltage was tested in the lanes to be this high, we chose to monitor the voltage during the run. This was done on many cars

5..At the end of the run the competitors voltage was 18.10 volts

6..The rules say your voltage cannot go over 18 volts

Based on the FACTS, we had no choice but to DQ the competitor.

Now I'm left wondering who's mistaken, when I talked to Nate, 10 minutes after he was Dq'd, he told me the reading was taken at the alternator.

Please dont bring up questions about this anymore. It serves absolutely no porpose, and can do nothing but cause trouble.

PS I didn't say "at the alternator", I said, "the meter leads were poked into the 1/0 that is connected directly to the alternator, and not at the amp terminals."
