What happened to Spring Break Nationals? Last year was SBN 15, so where's SBN 16? And why is it called the 2nd Annual Tuner Bash? What's up with that? Who's going besides me?

I believe that DB Drag will not be a SBN this coming year. I think Wayne is going to have an event in the same area on the same weekend though.

SBN will have IASCA, and the show at the Ocean Center. The Tuner Bash was something done more for performance enthusiasts last year just down the road. McMullen Argus/Primedia (owner of AS&S and CA&E) bought the magazines and show promotion company that did the Tuner Bash.
I don't know where USACi will be. Rumor has it MECA will now be at SBN. There's probably at most, a 1 mile distance between the locations.

Ok. I find this 2nd show add on wrong. Wayne only made this show because he is not getting the recognotion he use to at SBN. This SBTB show is just an effort to take away show competitor and show attenders from SBN. I think wayne should re-think this idea of the double show weekend, SBN is he11 in itself to make and do the whole weekend. Wayne you remind me of this country song titled "I wanna talk about me" I think the singer is travis tritt? no sure. Wayne make your show fall between South Padre TX. and SBN Fl. theres 3 weeks in there for another 3 point show. Consider this and you might not have as many problems as you might get doing this double show spotlight stealing stunt. I personally would call Wayne a traitor in person, also this is not very sportman like. I am done for now. Wayne, think man, THINK!

Wayne a traitor to WHO? Wayne is doing this for the competitors. Year after year I have heard most everyone talk about how DB Drag is treated like a red headed step child by SBN, they get put in the worst locations, and are looked down upon by all of the SQ guys. So Wayne worked something else out, keep in mind he didn't create the show, he is merely joining an event that started last year. Word is there will be lots more prize money there also. So tell me where exactly Wayne has betrayed anyone?

every year i ponder whether i have the money and time to go to SBN. I went in 98 and had lots of fun. If DB Drag isn't at SBN, what's the point of going? I'm gonna try to go to SBJ at South Padre if there's no DB Drag at SBN.
any positive answer on DB Drag at SBN? and SBJ?

Do you know something I don't??? Just because dB Drag is being held down the street, you assume Wayne is being dirty and underhanded? Maybe Wayne wants to offer cash prizes, and SBN doesn't do that...It could be that simple... Maybe we could get a statement from Wayne before everyone jumps to conclusions.

I think its a good move. It helps us get exclusive fans [groupies too], and get us away frow the SQ/ other formats traffic for those of us who compete in Db Drag only.

The dBDRA will be releasing a press release regarding the Tuner Bash event shortly. It is important to note that neither the SBN show or the Tuner Bash event are owned or produced by the dBDRA. The dBDRA did not select the dates or locations for these events. With that being said, here are some of the reasons that the dBDRA has elected to start participating at the Tuner Bash event instead of the SBN event.
1. SBN does not award prize money to competitors. The dBDRA has negotiated a contract with Primedia which guarantees a minimum total cash and prize purse of $10,000.00. We did this for the competitors.
2. The dBDRA has signed an agreement with Primedia which opens the door to a whole series of Tuner / Autosound competitions across the country. These shows are the hottest thing going. There are many, many more attendees at these tuner events than there are at a standard autosound competition. More attendees means more exposure for the dBDRA to both newcomer competitors and also potential large sponsors such as Honda and others. (You cannot BELIEVE how big the tuner market is!)
In conclusion, the dBDRA does not have anything against SBN. We are simply acting in the best interest of our competitors and the dBDRA. By participating at the Tuner Bash event, we can offer prize money. We also have exclusivity with regards to the auto sound competition. You can be sure that we will be able to offer even more to the competitors as things move forward.
I hope this answers your questions.
