Contacting local retailers is the best way. Tell them you what you have just stated. You want to attend shows, but there is none your way, and you would like to see one of their shops host an event.

If their not familiar with dB Drags, inform them about the style of competition, and how much your excited about competing.

Good Luck!

If you find the magic formula for adding Southern Louisiana to the dB Drag schedule, please let me know how. I tried last year to get someone to sponsor a dB Drag event, but can not locate anyone with the desire to spend the extra money associated with doing so, since there is a local (N.LA / S.AR) club that host SPL competitions for less money. Heck, it would cut down on some of my cost (fuel, restaurants, lodging) and it would eliminate me having to deal with a judge who won't add 3dB's in exchange for a McDonalds extra Value meal (may have to try Super Size).

Sid, I could give you some tips on becoming an event promoter...

Actually thats what you guys need in your area.
I could possibly come to that area a few times during the 2002 season, but I would have to charge more than usual to recover the extra travel expenses.

Thank you, david. At this point in time, I am not in position to undertake the adventures of being a dB Drag promoter. If the time does come, I may take you up on that offer. There is another promoter that has offered the same assistance, and I may contact him also...if the time comes.

Thanks again, David, for the offer.

I am in Monroe, Louisiana (NE corner of the state). If you think a petition would work, just show me where to sign.

i asked about this a year ago too or so...

the shops here won't sponsor a REAL event (read: legal) because most of the people who go to them here are pussies and are scared of doing it on the dash like a man (or woman). Ask most people down here what they're hitting and they'll tell you 155-156ish...ask em what they got. uh, a RF 800.2 and 2 Punch 12's in my trunk. well...that explains your score, must be outlaw

but hey, i'll sign that petition too just gimme the paper and pen.
