What about a class
1) Anything goes - body mods, interior mods,
2) The only rule would be the following
a) String test - no enclosurer past the front door jam
b) Vehicle must be driven into the lanes
c) traditional seating arrangement
d) Two front doors

Let everyones imagination run wild

Any amplifier legal... including Drag Queens.

Any transducer legal... including linear actuator subwoofers and feedback systems.

Sam, this could be fun. But, will Wayne let it fly? Would it have a place at finals?

Sounds cool to me.
Obviously, there would need to be SOME limits. For example, you couldn't DETONATE your vehicle. Actually, detonation could be cool. We could all hide in bunkers. (You would be responsible for replacing the mics, though.)

I think we also need to do "Grudge Matches". Kind of like the WWF. I would love to see some of the people on here "Put Up or Shut Up". I'm going to try and make this happen.

And just to add icing to the already sweet cake make it have a limit of 30 hz and lower. that will shake things up. And maybe bring RC out of hiding with his 6 ft woofer

I love the idea of Grudge Matches.....both parties put up some money like $100-$500 and winner takes all....Kinda do it like USAC's db5 is, 5 seconds best overall average wins. This way a SS could actually challenge a extreme veh.

I think the whole point is that people would be able to do whatever they want... high frequencies, etc. I agree though, a different class with only "low tones" would be cool.

Sweet, thanks Wayne. This could be tons of fun. I like the "Grudge Match" idea. I know that Derrick is selling his van so maybe instead of selling it, we could just blow it up in the lanes. lol Just playin D.

These rules would please the crowd the most!
2 classes EXTREME + SS UNLIMITED
1) SS rules apply to the interior in SS. division.Reason: Plain and simple, we want to see buckled doors and popped out windows!!
2)Any means of powering the system independant of extenal sources. (you can not pull up and borrow an outlet)
3)must use a 30 hz note or lower. Reason:lower frequencys travel farther through buildings and we want to push those windows out
Extreme Unlimited is the same except with extreme interior rules.
I don't think body modifications would do the classes any justice as it is more apealing to see a vehicle on the street and think back to the show where you saw some one in these classes push a window out or buckle a door jam. There is more awe in a standard looking vehicle(bread truck or not) pushing high 160-to 170's's under 30hz. For once lets apeal to what people want to see. Thats what I want to see. Damage brings attention!!! But lets not get carried away we might get a tv show with weekly shows.

Almost forgot, the nicer they look before they blow out a window the better. Primered vehicles need not apply.

At least raise the limit to 45hz. That frequency is by far the loudest to the ear and most "physical". If any of you ever got to see Gerald Kirkland's Hifonics/Kicker Blazer, you would understand. We also need to establish the SS class as a full interior class. That way we have NICE looking installs and are TV worthy. And there needs to be good announcers that can talk to the crowd and know what the competition is all about. I happen to know a prospect or two. The Griz has hinted.

Hmmmm......... interesting ideas!!!!! I like the "grudge match" idea.

I believe that having an "unrestricted" class would bring A LOT more competition to the dBDRA. Just imagine what people would come up with!!!!!!! It'd be insane but, AWESOME TO WATCH!!!!!! =)

Sounds like a lot of fun to participate in and spectate! I think this could be good for competitors and those that just watch competitions. We need to set out a few rules and make this happen.

If you are serious, I would say NO. It would be cool to hear these monstrosities in action, but with the vehicle "open" you would be inviting the local authorities to respond to complaint from surrounding business and/or residents.

Doors open would be cool but I would still like to see the doors ripped off first, then it would have to be open

The spectators would be like

Do I smell a couple of new classes Wayne? good move.

Cool

How about a damage league as well.... sort of informal... relates to blown out windscreens, bent, unopenable doors, scraping rear suspension, huge equipment losses. etc.

But when you say any type of sub is legal, can we compress thecabin? and could we use engine driven subs, pneumatic subs, that sort of thing, or would there be a requirement that they be able to play music same as amps?

SAM this sounds like a great idea, but I only have one question. If the mics are having problems with the amount of pressure being put on them now,how will they hold up to a anything goes class which would be even louder?

NOTE:
This is a serious question not a mic bashing post*********

I think this whole idea is great. I know I would pay good money to see a stereo destroy a car.
