I am one of the reps for Indiana and Kentucky for the company that carries JL and Planet Audio. I competed last year a few times, but kinda felt guilty. It was as though some competitors thought I had an unfair advantage. I paid for and installed all of my equipment myself, but still felt guilty.
The company I work for, put on several sanctioned shows last year. While I did try to hit other shows, I did compete at quite a few of ours. Some, where I was actually involved in officiating and placing mics.
All of the above information still holds true this year. We will be putting on shows. I will be working some of those shows. But, I still want to compete.
I am asking all of you(including Wayne), what you think I should do.
Is this really any different than people competing at their own store's events? Am I just worring too much? What would you do?
Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

whats up Josh, I think u should compete and i in no way consider what you cheating or anything. You are in contact with the companies a lil easier then most but that don't mean that Jim(i think thats what the J in JL means) and Lucio is coming to ur place and putting in ur subs and building ur box. REMEMBER what EVERYBODY on this forum is saying now....... INSTALL is the key!! BUT I do have to add......
Team Droppin Hz will have a street 1-2 car this year so we will have our show downs...lol. See ya in Lafayette.
oh and yeah you are worrying too much. lol

That set-up in my signature is our ss1-2 wall car. We are devoting some time this week to our street car. Time to break out the good ol 12w3s, i miss my lil buddys. We wont be properly powered in that car YET, but we will still expect some good numbers.
BEWARE THE PINK HONDA!!

I am not as familiar with street 1-2 yet as I should be. I believe 15's are not legal. But can I use a PA2500D for my subs and a PA4002 for my fronts?

You're Street 1-2 Gil, and you know it. Now quit *****footing around and try to put up some #'s with your weak bass! Loose the Zetar and get a 2500D. You know this, man!!

We also went through something similar last year around here, Prof Gil. What we did was to have somebody else set the mic in our vehicle, another run the computer, and had a close friend run our vehicle through so that nobody thought we were "cheating". Never came across any problems when we did it that way. Not sure if that is an option for you. Just make sure not to set the mic or be the one running the computer when your vehicle goes through, otherwise you will probably get some complaints. Good luck!

Hey Josh Man Just because your a Rep dont mean you shouldn't compete, I mean alot of these big competitors are getting the stuff at a reasonable price as im sure you do so dont worry there. And also alot of the other competitors on here also either wok at a shop or are Reps. too. SO BE AT SOUNDLABS and Enjoy It
