Currently, a competitor is said to have a "wall" if their enclosure is higher than the lowest point of the top of the driver / passenger doors (where the window goes into the door).

It has been suggested that we use the rear windows instead in order to be consistent with other soundoff organizations.

What do you think?

It has been my experience that people who cross-platform compete, build first to dbDrag's rules, and then as a secondary consideration build to the other sanction.

IDBL's "wall" definition is a height from the floor to the top of enclosure - 25" is the max height allowable before vehicles are moved into a walled class.

SLAPs rules I believe take the rear window line.

I am uncertain as to MECA and USACi's SPL rules, there aren't as many shows in our region for those sanctions.

You also run into the fact that I have seen extended cab P/U with rear windows that are WAY lower than the front

In USACi, your box can't block the view out of the back window. The box can't be above the rear seat backs, not counting the head rests if the rear seat has them.

Just a thought.. but couldnt the "line" be measured from the bottom center of the front windscreen to the bottom center of the rear one ? Easy to measure, all cars/light trucks/vans have front & rear windscreens, not skewed by vehicle ride height.

What do you think?

I don't think that rule should change.rear window lines in vehilces vary waaaaay more than the top of the driver/pass doors.rear window lines would bring up more grey areas. [Smile]

I think a 25" rule would work. If not just leave it the way it is.
