You are correct. I need to fix this.
I liked the amp limit better , ok that turned out not to be the right way to go , but maybe limit the numbers of circuitboards , this dous not ban any amps , you can still use them but not as much as last year .
And very big single board amps can never be powered white the new battery rule .

I'm listening man, although I dont have the 3rd seat, I must agree that if you have the 3rd seat that is removable, then you should be able to take it out for comps, however the 1st, and 2nd row must remain in the vehicle

The bottom line is that a maximum of 4 "wires" can be attached to each woofer. If you have a quad, you will need to use some combination of series/parallel wiring of the coils so that the woofer can be driven with 4 (or less) conductors.
So you can use quads with 2 pairs of strapped amps but you cant use quads with 1 amp per coil??
Surely its the same either way??
4 x 2k amps on one quad or 2 pairs of 2k amps strapped on a quad??
Same quad, same 8k on the woofer??

Wayne while you are looking through this right now, I really think that you need to set the voltage to 14.4-14.5 standing voltage for Street.
Also I think there needs to be a Total power limit, as if you goto per driver limit, people that will be running the 6 10's, and 8 8's will be able to run much more power. in Street

Yes i agree , but you just gave the anser , multiple identical boards . Whell than they consist of more than 1 smaller amps , and is not 1 board .

The Battery Limitation Rule. Will it be based upon the installation in the factory battery tray,un modified? As for Voltage , my battery will float @ 13.4-13.8 vdc.ENGINE OFF.with the charge voltage @ 14.4(industry standard)even though some manufactures vary the fixed voltage from 12-16 vdc. I like the rules so far, great consideration for newbies!! Permitting, rather than Bannishing will help eliminate them "GREY AREAS". Keep up the good work!

The quad issue is done, done, done. This was decided months ago. Discussing this issue further is pointless.

Can you address your thoughts behind "removable seats"?
It seems that Street was always "factory intent", why not leave it that way? If it was designed to be removed and operated without a row of seats then why not allow it?
Thanks Chris

About like every extended cab full size truck would be in Pro or Super Street, unless they run a pair of 8's or 10's under their rear bench seat. (if they fit)

Wayne, did you read my previous post regarding multiple coils? As the rules stand right now you could still successfully use a tri-coil speaker (three discrete coils), I am not sure if this is your intention or not.

From a manufacturing perspective, it makes a lot of sense to use multiple identical boards to fabricate an amp.
What about the amps that are just one stacked on top of another? Obviously there are some amps that are internally bridged inside one heatsink, with one power hookup, and one set of speaker terminals.
However, an amp like the Zapco 4kw or SPL Dynamics EXT-4000D, Has 2 seperate boards, and 2 seperate hookups for power and speaker terminals. Shouldn't that be considered 2 amps?

Wayne- The roof build down in extreme is going to be very difficult to do. I checked ours tonight. We have a VERY MINIMAL builddown. It is below the door jams in the front (and this is in a van, mind you). Most vehicles have a gentle slope at the front making the roof gently slope down in the front some. May I suggest A MAXIMUM allowed buildown measured from the doorjam? (ie 2-4 inches) Thank you.

Would it be possible to include a more precise definition of this statement....
"A maximum of 4 electrical conductors may be connected to each woofer"
By a more precise definition, I mean something along the lines of....
"A maximum of 2 positive conductors, and 2 negative conductors may be connected to each individual woofer".
Unless, this is not the overall intent for the usage of 4 conductors, in which time, nothing should be amended, and my post should simply be overlooked.

That could help, but sounds like it would be quite hard to police. As it is, it sounds like judges are going to have to physically crawl into some boxes and visually verify the number of Connections on each speaker.

How is that hard to police. In most vehicles it is very simple for someone to crawl inside the box and check wiring.

I was referring to the positive/negative terminal thing being hard to police, not the actual connections themselves.

quote:Originally posted by db_saxo: And what about 2 seater cars , factory removeble or not , will they have to go to Pro Street . Meaning Crx , panda , smart.
Well, Pandas come with a rear seat, so whether removable or not(the versions of the pandas differ), they will not be able to be taken out, this will include any such type vehicle that has two doors with a removable rear seat. All Pandas(or the like) in street will have a rear row of seats, I think this is good for the street classes in Europe where there was much talk of doing this for along time, they got what they wanted for over there, if Panda owners want to take the seat out, or any vehicle for that matter now, they can, just compete in Street Pro. Crxs, Exps, RX7s, etc, never came with rear seats over here so I wouldn't imagine anything would change for them, also I wouldn't imagine that trucks(S-10s, etc.) would be treated any different then they have in the past. Correct me if I'm wrong about any of this but I don't think I am.

You are correct. I was trying too hard to help, and lost sight of the obvious. As long as there are only 4 conductors connected to the woofer, which are positive and which are negative is irrelevant. Please overlook my previous post. Thank you.

very good point.. maybe they should limit the total power for the class instead of power per sub for street class..

ok, i'm not complaing i'd just have to work harder to get louder....but the way things look now if there is a set power per sub in street a/b/c lets say 3000w per sub. Then people with 1 18'' and 3kw would be going against people with 8 8s and 24kw. just an observation
