hello,

I propose a rule- that it should be illegal (and subject to DQ) at any event to cover an interior, window, box, baffle, rack, or any other item related to the working of the audio system.. In my opinion it is ridiculous to to go a show, and see boxes/walls covered with blankets and windows boarded up with cardboard.

I go to dB drag shows and expect to look at different cars, and see what other people are using/running. Going to shows with blankets on windows and blankets over sub boxes is very annoying and not much fun.

if you have something that you need to hide so much, you might as well go somewhere else because this orginization really doesnt need that type of attitude and display.

Just my .02 cents

I could not agree MORE!!!!

How is it beneficial for the sponsors who spend multi-thousands on these vehicles?

How is it pleasing to the spectators? (and DB Drag IS a big spectator sport whether or not you realize it)

How is it helping the sport?

I can understand wanting to keep your vehicle closed so people cant break things, steal things, or mess with settings, but keeping a vehicle covered is helping no one.

And before someone replies "boo hoo...I dont want anyone to take my ideas", I'm gonna say that if something is that apparant to the eyes, chances are you arent the only one who knows about it [Wink]

AGREED. I completely understand that they do not want to be copied but it is no fun for everybody else.

I would not want to go out to the local race track and not be able to look at the race cars.

For this (the "blanket" rule) could be easily implemeted into the current rule book...

quote:
4-3

Additional Guidelines:

· The officiating staff must be afforded a clear view inside of the vehicle when looking through the windshield and side windows of the vehicle.

Add a few simple words, and the rule takes on a alternative purpose....

The officiating staff must be afforded a clear view inside of the vehicle,at all times, when looking through the windshield and side windows of the vehicle.

This, or an similar ruling, could be implemented into the Street and Super Street classes also. By taking a present rule, and expanding its purpose, there should not cause of alarm or major change.

I also believe that if the windshield and side windows can never be covered, then the requirement for the vehicles to remain open can be relaxed. With the windshild and side windows uncovered (at all times), then the purpose of having to leave a door open is less validated. With the windshield and window clear, anyone (spectator or fellow competitor) can view the interior of any competition vehicle. Of course, this may still hinder the ability to take pictures of the interior, due to the reflection or limitations of the photo processing equipment, but it will still allow for people to see that no one is cheating. Also, without being able to physically climb into a vehicle, the risk of someone complicating the competitors equipment is reduced. Add in the fact that no one will be able to measure the exact enclosure demension, since they will only be looking throught the windshield (or side windows), there is less chance of enclosure duplication.

Well, this may come off as an attitude, but where do you get off telling me or others with the same opinion as mine that we don't belong here?

Feel free to have your opinion, but don't ever tell me what my opinion has to be.
