Everyone has an Id Card correct? What I would like to see is a name attached to the Team Competitors. I think the car owner should actually have to run the car at shows not a Team Member.

sometimes we have a day show and a night show... not sure its a great idea, because it is nice to take 1 day of the week and get 16 points. now i do believe taking pictures or the vehicles that compete...

I got it!!!

1 term-lab mic+one computer+cheap flatbed scanner+People's membership cards=No question about what cars were at a show!!

I am sure Wayne can design term-lab to allow an upload of the pic to the album for the event. The results already have the event number in them.....

It doesn't help db drag if you attend two shows in the same day with different vehicles. One team member attending a show, and another going to a show 900 miles away, and then the other person flies out to the show, not acceptable in my opinion. I don't think this is legal under current rules(the way i read them) and I don't think it should be legal period.

I like using my Team Name and only I use it. Teammates use their own names or Team Bumpin Sounds-Jeff, Rob, Wayne when they compete. [Cool]

I agree with that.. but I mean it is possible to have 1 show in the morning then another show in the evening that are close..

Ok please turn the light swith on and listen to what being said and think about this.

topics such as no 3x or 2x and make all shows 1x to increase the # of shows a competitor must attend.

Now on the flip side this thread wanting to limit the # of shows a competitor can attend.

think about this please

you want people at shows to help DB drag bring people into the fold and inspire future competitors so Why??? limit someone who is dedicated enough to have a teammate goto a show and then FLY to that show so the car can attend???

The Teammate is showing off the DB drag car to the public. The TEAM is contributing not only to the attendance at one show but TWO.

does it matter if they aren't in the top 15 for finals???

lets please try and find a usefull direction but at this rate might as well keep things as is.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes I agree your membership card should be shown/memorized by owner (I tend to loose things) and written down at an event.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey Wayne might think about a staged membership.

full member = 30.00
jr. member = 10.00

jr. membership can't qualify for finals or attend 3X events. This would allow for a cheaper $$$ requirement to try out DB drags at thier local shops.

usefull talk Danny nothing wrong with this thread. Why are you giving up so easy??? You have been in car audio a long time, why not give more reasons behind your comments instead of asking a MOD to close a potentially valueable post you started.

I am sorry that you feel the post isn't going anywhere, I think it is generating a few good ideas.

As for your idea about teams generating support for the industry. I would have defended this 100% until I heard people talking about living in another country, having a car built there, the car competing then that person flying over just for finals. I would like to see that the car that is certified in spl have to have 50 points with the owner at the controls. This would allow team cars but also get to the peple actually competing their cars.

I have been to a lot of shows where you didn't have to be a member to compete so why would anyone buy a Jr membership if they could have the same benefits,no finals, as a non-member.

I would like to see

Full Member=30.00
Team member=50.00 each The team members points all go toward the same car for finals.

Our team enters our E car under team name...because it is really a team project, we ALL participated in it and put our money into it, we also use our daily subs and amps for our E car-so it can't be anything else that a TEAM CAR...

I love it but also like the idea of hitting more the one show a day if it is really possible. I guess the answer to that would be same competitor and same car can do 2 shows in the same day. If you really can hit 2 shows with the same car then do it but no points chasing.

well, I think this is good except, where there are 2 shows so close...on the same day. I think ID's should be checked, and the ID shown, IS the name that gets the points. I also agree with having multipule people working on one car, put your team name on your car??? but leave stats in one name.

off topic, I belive your trying to remedy this going to multipul shows in one day (when there is really no, logical way you can) thing. or the holding shows "to chase points thing"....
simple things....make it to where ANY results that come in and have less than 10 compitiors, are null. AND the promoter of ANY show, that is in question, MUST show that they ran the brackets completly. Anotherwords, no more shows where "joe ans shmoe" ned 7 points for finals, so they get on the web site, post a show, then hold the show at 2am, for 2 cars. IMO, doing stuff like this is ALOT worse than, a team that travels nd then fly's to make shows....thats dedication....a "two car", show is simply cheating the rules.

Simply put a barcode on the membership cards, and have termlab set up to scan the barcodes and record who was there.

scan the barcode, run your 30 seconds, code and score are recorded.
