I for one dont think a bann on quads for the '04 season is the awnser...but i do think the mega power amps in street class need to be addressed......what has more of a market i ask you. Quads?? or 4kwt+ amps?? That is a very easy question to awnser....instead of banning quads we need to do something about the amps in the street classes....how even many of them we end up with...2, 3 or even 4 if we do a pro street and street....and for that mattter if a bann of quads still is looked at as being in our future then give those with them a seasons notice before dropping the axe......

I think The best way would be to limit battery power.. I mean people will just coming out with bigger amps if thats what needed.. if you limit battery power its harder to find ways around it

Hey not bad, but again batteries would also be hard to restrict. What would be restricted? Size? Amprage?

With the car off the monster amps re not an issue in street class. You simply can not properly power them. But if quads go then they will be all the rage in the bigger classes and you will need to pay much more to play if you get my meaning.

...yup..and unless Wayne plans to do something about them quads need to stay.......cant get rid of one without dealing with the other....
I find it very odd that you did not compete even once in 2003, and in 2002 you only competed in Street. What gives you the right to say that something cant be done without another in an area you have no interest in.

I'm vocing my opinion...like the rest of us are...didnt know i wasnt alowed.......50% of those posting about the rules are also talking about rules that will not effect them.....alot will not even tell us there name or give a stats link......and with a 9+ van in the wroks...this will effect me....monster amps or quads....I was all ready to pay the $$ for a membership till i saw all of the ratical changes afoot...so i will have to wait till the end of the rules discusion to see if i will still have a chance with the equipment at my disposal..I would have last season....I took a first place at a show that was advertized as a DB Drag (149db on the old termlab, i was the only one in the class).......i entered..won...and after i never found it anywhere on termpro.....and since local shows dont count there are 2 more that wont be on my stats page....I love this sport and just because I'm not a big name that has 50+ shows under his belt doesnt mean my opinion should not count.....I know in the end Wayne will make the right call....he always does.......
P.S. Just to prove i am a planing on competing.....I just ordered an '04 membership...I plan to suport the DBDRA no matter the final rules outcome....it is still the best orginazation to date........

If limiting amps by quantity, you also need to limit the physical size of the amp, as otherwise, the size of competition amps is going to be the next thing that the manufacturers wont like, as no man on the street will be buying amps the entire size of his boot.
So limit the "volume" occupied by the amp, length/width are easy to measure.
This will also help to drive technology forward faster, as at the moment, amps are just getting bigger, not making the best used of their size.
