Meh. Either way it doesn't matter. You'll just see larger amps(instead of 4000w amps on each coil, you'll just have 8000w amps per coil on duals) I never got why quads would be banned, it won't change anything from a performance perspective anyway. Oh well, nice "change".

Why???? I don't think it will help, since there i companies that make quads and have sponsored vehicles in dB drags, so you make one rule change and all the people who run quads, from people who buy from a retailer to sponsor players are now going to rip out all there quads, sell them for what they can and then go buy DVC's

This won't level the playing field, now people who are still willing to attend db drag events, and who have replaced the quads will go out and get bigger amps, like JBL GTI6000's, US amps 6000x, SPL dynamics EXT 5000d, the list goes on, and then soon people will be whinging that those should be no allowed because they are too expensive and make too much power and want then banned as well.
Question 1 for Wayne: How many teams do you think will stop attending db drag events because you have no banned quad coil woofers????
Question 2 for Wayne: So what do the companies who run quads in db drags do with that part of their income, their sponsored vehicle and all the publicity it got for the company????
Question for all the Teams who run Quads: Are you going to replace all your woofer with DVC one's, let alone reconfiguring your amp set up to make the amount of power you want and still attend db drag events????

Not a good idea IMHO to ban quads. (ok, I am mad, because it took so long to get quads for me, and now, 4 amps are to throw away, and maybe I would have changes to SS3-4 next year, what means, to throw 4 or 8 amps away and buy 4 bigger ones...)
I dont say that it is not possible to build louder cars with duals, look at the world champ, or the world record holder, but there are alway other things what make a car loud. For example the deign and install, what could be done with a lot of money. That means, that SS cars are so heavy today that they have to be trailered. And that costs money also ! We have car modifications what are legal, what makes cars not really driveable. Moveable maybe, but not really secure. Quadcoils are the "cheapest" way (if you laugh now or not) to gain some db´s. Ok, and they will not prevent that some people make their mods and use quads.
So, final opinion from me, dont ban quads, work on the rules for modifying a car. (of course, I speak about Super Street, but Xtreme is heavy anyways, so why not with quads). And there are a lot of points who have to be forced about the mods in Super Street ! (knock knock on the roof)
Üüüühh!!! Michael
PS.: Banning quads from dB Drag would make my decsision easier to (not to) come to the next world finals and will save me a lot of money !

I think this is a bad move. Personnaly I dont compete in SS oe Ex so it doesnt affect me. NOw instead of spending $300 dollars a piece for strappable amps, now you have to spend 1000-2000 an amp now in those classes. I think someone might want everyone to use a crown next year in SS in Extreme. Also I think you have slapped many of your long time competitors that use quads in the face. What are you doing to this sport???????

This can`t be true...... Got to stop my order.....

You know what I think is funny.. last year when it was decided street would run with the car off.. people complained.. but the people who did were "whiners".. now that a big change happens in other classes I guess the standard changes and people can complain as much as they want..

Sure, how much people had to change their systems after that descission? Maybe some...
I have a Street car also, and we changed NOTHING ! Just kept the engine off. (And added one more Ampm hehehe)
How much people have to buy new amps, sell the old amps with money loss, buy new subs, or recone working old subs... Banning Quads now, after years of allowing them is a too big change for too much people. (not for sponsored people maybe)
Just for my example, I will DEFINITIVELY NOT sell my Zapcos to buy cheap "just raw power crap" (My opinion) just for dB Drag ! And I will not be able to buy Crowns or any other good amp with that much power. (ok, maybe my problem not yours)
And I will not buy (I cant) new amps just for that ! My Subs are quads now (and I saved a lot of money to collect all subs and quads I own now) and I will not change them into Duals. Maybe I must use my old Strokers again then...
If I will be able to have a competitive car ok, but if not, count me out for world finals...
Maybe just competing then in national levels again, what means two steps back for me...
Üüüühh!!! Michael
PS.: On the other hand, this is good for competition, I see that also ! Louder cars, better installs (not the extreme SS installs) with less power. (If you think there will be less power, I dont think so !) But make people buying/selling a lot of stuff is not so good.

This is a bad move...if it is going to happen there should be a like 1 season warning and just bann them in Street and Superstreet.......extreme is extreme so let them run them....if you are going to ban them....let it be for the 2005 season so those with quads have time to change and not just leave db drag altogether.....
