Hi, if we name the SPL Dynamics, we must name the American Bass amps also, because its the "same" amp. But, 1 Amp (case) with two boards is usual for many years. There are some examples, LIKE the VLX and this very old (but good) Earthquake 4 Channel amp, dont know the name anymore, 4300 ???
If we/you want to get these amps away, we must find another argument than two amps in one shell, or maximum channels or whatever. 4KW was in advantage the recent years, now the American Bass/SPL Dynamics is...
Üüüühh!!! Michael (who will not like it, to see the 4 KW banned, because he has 4 of them... On the other hand, its allowed to use 2 2 channel amps in street, so that there is no difference anymore between a 4 KW and 2 9.0´s or any other bridgeable 2 channel amp, but all this you know already )

very true michael... i forgot to mention the us amps 400hc, 200hc, us amps usa 800 as well. i think we need to limit number of amp boards for street since we are not willing to limit power. i think we need a rule that says if your car doesn't start because the battery is drained you are dqed if we do not go to having the cars back on, and playing songs for a certain duration...

I think that we need to look at the number of power supplies in amps. Any amp can have multiple boards in it but I think the issue comes when the board can be lifted out of the case and run on its own. I know people that have uncased xtant amps and run then screwed to a mdf board. You can do this with the 4kw. Can you run a single board out of the vlx? Yes it has 4 power supplies. I'm not sure on the ab or spl dynamics amps.

I would just like to see consistancy in street amp classification. I saw the thread on the new Street A world record and the first thing that was brought up was the amps were shady under the rules about channels. I think this needs clarification for next season.

I personally would prefer to see single Boards in casing, two boards contitute two Amps in my eyes. We have to determine the power supply question per board also.
