If you see something that doesn't bennefit you, come on here and complain about it till your red in the face and try to get it outlawed so that next year you can give yourself the hope of doing well. Then next year whent the top guys have changed to fit the new rules and hand it to you again in the lanes, find something new that you think is giving them an advantage and try to get that thrown out as well. This is of course after you competed in 3 shows last year. Lets just spend 500 dollars a year and get a chance to win world finals, with 1000 watts, a stock battery and 1 8. That sounds good for the organization and the industry.
I see what you are saying, but what I'm saying is from the two pics provided(one by you and one by Scraper) that it seems that a SP1700 wouldn't legally fit in a CRX. Now I'm pretty sure that they are both 2nd gen. CRXs and the SP1700 may fit the 1st gen. The fact of the matter is that there are people shoe horning SP1700s into these cars using any means nessacery to get them in there. This takes away an advantage that another car might have that can fit one. So if it was a matter of leveling the playing field then this should be addressed.
Now my teammate has a car that a SP1700 won't fit in, others with this same car haved forced them in. We will not because I feel it goes against the spirit of DB Drag.

I can asure you that STINGER 1700)) will fit in a 2nd gen. We have 2 crxs on the Team and both have 1700s with No modifications by beating or shoving, and they do sit flat,(not on the fenderwel). Trust me if they didnt sit flat they would rub the hood.Secondly I promise that our Crx will do the same exact number with stinger 800s as it does with 1700s. Only difference is we would drop score (.3-.5) on the 2nd or 3rd burp.

looks like that idea suits YOUR situation the best the reason why those crx's are doing bigger numbers than the vans becuase of the box restriction behind the sliding door jam if not of cousre the vans would definately be louder which would produce the same arguements after 2001 finals just my 2 cents.......wait.....damn they only gave me a penny.

I look at it like this, "does everyone use factory openings for wire?" "do people cut holes in the doors for coaxials?" do people modify there cars in a street enviorment? in most serious street beater cars that answer is yes, SO, why not replace the factory battery with something bigger, even if you have to remove the tray? I mean look at the stinger batteries, they come with there OWN tray, I took mine out, and used theres....does that make me illegal? not by what I have seen....actually, I would even consider my stinger battery tray a factory equivalent replacement, meaning, I can take out my battery tray, and use the stinger one as a replacement in any wording of the rules.

I think we need to have a one subwoofer class in street. because street is al about a cheap system. i don't think that a street car should cost alot. when i think of expensive i think of super street and extream.

maybe one of the biggest factor to more level the playing feild. would be to have all boxes fit under the factory cargo cover. would this not be alot easier to check then the lowest point on the front door window? I know my last two cars factory hatch cover is well above (3 inches) talon. integra. yet my tahoe is a good 4 inches taller then that window line. and if i had a trunk car i could go above that window line. I would quess a crx might lose a few inches on top to get under that hatch cover.

IMO street class should stay as it is.........for the batt...as long as it a safe and ment for a car let if be.........all we need to get things more for the entry level peeps is to have a manditory mini street class for the 1x events....if there was always a place for the newbies to play without being crushed by us veterins we would get alot more of them interested.......this is what my local shop plans to run at 1x events this season.... Street 1 up to 500wts Street 1-2 up to 1000wts Street 3+ up to 1500wts Street 1001+
Pro Street A Pro Street B
SS NW SS 1-2 SS 3-4 SS 5+
EX open
The pro is just the normal street class with street being mini....all classes get trophies for 1-3 even mini but the mini is $15 instead of the $20 for the rest.......
