in motorcycle racing Twins race Twins this is due to the power a V-twin makes vs a normal 4 cycl which makes alot more power.
This is to even things up.
In the street division the # of channels is the "even things up" equalizer. Banning SVC or Quads will not even anything up because its not a power issue. Amps are the power issue , # of batteries is a power issue, car not running is a power issue.
want to equalize more of the street allow quads and limit amp size.
cap off the RMS wattage of the amps at 1500 watts per channel --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2-5 The standard classes for dB Drag Racing are as follows…
Street Division
· Street A – A maximum of 2 subwoofer amplifiers may be used. Total subwoofer amplification is limited to a maximum of 4 “non-bridged” output channels or 2 “bridged” output channels. (Please see the definitions section for more detail regarding bridging.)
· A maximum of 1500 rms watts @12.5v will be allowed per non-bridged out channel.
this would limit the use of high $$$$ high output amps in street.

why would you need to test it???
how many amps can you name thats over that wattage rating??? one maybe two ???
alot of companies over rate thier amps wattage specs this might bring some of the rating more inline with reality. Also with a NORMAL/reasonable wattage cutoff, manufactures won't be making any 1watt cheater amps like has happened in the past with other organizations.

I don't see the problem with running quad coils in street... Look at street B guys... if they want to run a single 18 (and power it with four mono-block amps) they have to get amps that are strap able... if quads were to be allowed they have more amp options...
That to me is the only clear-cut benefit to allowing quads in street...
As stated before... the number of amps and the number of channels is already regulated…
And why is BB and CC becoming the benchmark for what is “street”?

I am soooo glad i didnt get my dd's reconed to quads now. But i do believe this is a good thing. Well i hope it is and just doesnt make it where everyone just runs the same "monster" amps.

Sorry before this closes - get real brother I have so many guys bringing in amps from the east, you have got to be kidding yourself if you thing that there are only one or two. I have a logistical nightmare here we have very few brand names running above board here and the rest are all trying to build names for themselves, I just cant keep up. You have a very cosy sitiaution in the states where brand names are cheap enough that competitors are not looking elseware for more power cheaper. In fact I dont have enough fingers on both hands to tell you how many amps that have popped their ugly heads up. Well now Quads are totally baned. Lets go put full NOS & superchargers on our street cars and race the guys without.

I guess those who want quads banned didn't read this post. We've shown that they're even good in street class!

just because you have 2000 or 4000 or 6000 or 12000 or more on tap doesn't mean you use it 24/7.
I loved having a 155+ DB crx and I could listen to it at "normal levels" and when I wanted to BLAST someone I just removed a few port plugs and cranked up the sub out on the deck.
Its nice having power on tap when you want it
