I believe window tint is already covered. If the judge feels that they are not afforded a clear view inside of the vehicle, then they may make the competitor address the problem.

·Sound damping materials may be used throughout the vehicle. For mat-type materials, the total thickness for all layers applied at a given point may not exceed 1/8 inch (3.175mm) for those areas located in front of the door jambs, while an unlimited layer thickness may be applied to those areas that fall behind the door jambs. For spray-on materials, a maximum spray thickness of 1/8 inch (3.175mm) may be used on surfaces that are located in front of the door jambs, and an unlimited spray thickness may be applied to surfaces that fall behind the door jambs. (Only one type of sound damping material may be used at a given point if that point falls in front of the door jambs.)
Why the limit of the total thickness of dampening material can't be for example 1/4 inch?

By applying 1/4 thick mat to any surface you would be structurally reinforcing that surface.
When the rules regarding mat-type material were written, very thick mat type materials did not exist. This is why we allowed up to 2 layers of mat and 1/8 inch of spray. The intent was to allow the competitor to use mat-type material or spray type damping without the damping material acting as a reinforcement. Had we known about the existence of thicker mat-type materials earlier, we would have published a clarification on this rule sooner.

I still think there needs to be some sort of amp list for street class....as to the tune of amps that are not to be used in 1-2 and at all in street and amps that you can use one of in 3-4.....

quote: · Street A, 1 to 2 woofers 12-inches in diameter or less OR a single 15-inch woofer – 1 subwoofer amplifier maximum.
· Street B, 3 to 4 woofers 12-inches in diameter or less OR a pair of 15-inch woofers – 2 subwoofer amplifiers maximum
Maybe this should be changed to say you can use a single woofer larger than 12-inches, because with these rules you are in theory ruling out some odd sized woofers between 12" and 15" like a certain 13.5 inch woofer...

A quick way to put a cap on amplifier power is by how much weight they have.,I have yet to see a ten thousand watt amp.,the size and mass of a postage stamp or a cocacola can. Having a certified DB Drag scale at an event is a simple.,fast.,understandable form to check amplifier power compliance.,i.e. too heavy? you are out.,next. Thank you. Russell E. Burrows.
