This question has been on my mind for a while now.
How much do ya'all think amp power is going to factor in with the RTA & 10ft SPL. I would mainly guess it would factor in the SPL portion.
The reason I am asking this is fairness with the speaker classes which mentions nothing about total amplifier power?
I am aware that you can't go beyond 136dB, but someone in my speaker class can get closer than me with more amp power.

The RTA will null any benefits of any gains in SPL.

Basically what I am inquiring about is this:
Will amplifier power classes in the speaker classes be more of a fair competition for all?

Maybe...but then you get into the "cheater amp" and hidden amp thing again.

Heck, I can go by the TRUE rms rating for my Punch 150's to make the Competition Format fair for all.
'Stated Rated' about 300-400w total for my 2 150's.
'TRUE Rated' about 600-700w.

A point to make about "cheater amps" & "hidden amps":
Judges will be looking through the entire install for format points anyhow, most likely BEFORE the RTA & 10ft SPL metering. They should be familiar with the "cheater amps", especially RF Vintage/Old School & Orion HCCA's among some others. Then they can properly place them in their proper power class. As a personal opinion, I think the majority of competitors will be using 'New School' non-cheater amps.
For "hidden amps", which I am assuming you mean amps that are intentionally hidden from view to cheat, again I mention the Judges keeping a keen eye on the entire install to find any kind of deception that MIGHT occur, which I doubt will be a big concern.

I am new at this type of competition and it looks very interesting, I had a chance to check out RFVEGA115's set up and I must say, I was very inpressed with the quality of the vintage install. It took me back about 10 - 15 years, I am quite surprised of the care and intensity that went into making that little hatchback look like it just came out of a time warp. This makes me want to build one too. By the way, thank you for all your support at our last event and I hope to see you return and maybe we can get others to be excited about the "All Around Ride" like you have, RF Vega 115.

Yea, I have kept it up since 90 just about like that. A TRUE Vintage Old Schooler!
BTW, here is a great pic that you took of the 83 & me that I decided to post on here:
Thanks for the great show & competition and for showing me the 'trick' to increasing my score on the TermLab meter. I do look forward with much anticipation to attending many more of your shows!
