hmmm, long and interesting discutions here.
To bring bakc the original topic, i would like to know how do DB Drag qualifies:
1: Pro versus Amateurs competitors
(my idea here is that a Pro competitor has the financial ressources and time to build his system. It's a competitor who will often use higher end equipement and have a higher knowledge. However, it's a blurry line there because someone can have financial capacity to buy high end equipement but no knowledge to build anything and an other who barely can buy a Sparkomatic amplifier and still do 150 dB., Who will you qualifies as the Pro here)
2: Qualifies Sponsored competitors versus un-sponsored competitors.
(By general tought in this post, sponsored competitors is a competitor with close ties with a particular manufacturier and he's getting it's equipements at a far lower cost than that of the street price. )
Aside this, i completly agree with a Pro Class in super street.

"Pro-street" is just a name for a class that is one step up from the new nubie class. It has nothing to do with 'Pro' vs. 'Amateur'.

Someone really needs to define sponsored. I am technically a pro because I work at a shop and through that shop I can get Equipment on employee accomadations. Am I sponsored or is it just people who work closely with manufacturers to get free equipment. I think this definitely needs to be defined in the rules. Also I agree that vehicles that were not designed to carry passengers (cargo vans) should not be allowed in street but leave the CRX's alone(no I don't drive one). I do think that for pro street there should be a FEW differences between that and regular street. I think to keep it completely the same defeats the purpose of making the new class. I don't particularly see a problem with allowing podiums, because you don't generally see a street beater with an external podium, but you also don't really see many street beaters with 3-5kw either and this is allowed. not saying that this should be illegal but when you start reaching 150+ you are going to run into problems with head units skipping. Another issue I'm not extremely concerned with but I am curious why 15 inch subs are not allowed in street. I see TONS of street beater cars with 2 15's. That is one of the most common setups I see in my shop is 2 fifteens and one amp with anywhere from 400-1500 watts. Just curious, not trying to change the rules though.

so will someone that was in street last year at finals be able to compete in the pro street class?????
i also do beleive that any two seater car should not be legal!! simply because you take away a certain vehicle that has a two seater edge BUT you don't take away the two seaters??? that just doesn't make sense!!!!
