1. Is the mic jig used with the the long arm in the horizontal position, not diagonal, making the measurement from the a-pillar larger than if it were used in the diagonal position?
2. Is the mic jig placed parallel with the windshield 1" way to conform with it's shape, or is it placed perpendicular to the Earth or dash?
3. If the dash is odly shaped, do you use the point that is 1" away from the windshield?

The long arm of the mic jig should be horizontal and parallel to the ground. The vertical part of the mic jig should be perpendicular (straight up) to the ground. At this point, you have positioned the mic horizontally and vertically. The final step is to place the tip of the mic capsule 1 inch away from the windshield. Without moving the placement of the mic, rotate the bottom of the jig until the 1" bumper touches the class. At this point, the short leg of the jig should be parallel to the glass. Then, carefully slide the mic towards the glass until it is flush with the mic jig.
