Wsup guys. New here. I heard JL Audio got the smoothes speakers out there that would not hurt your ears but instead giving it a comfortable melody. I have an 2003 Lexus GS430 with Navigation and Mark Levinson head unit (stock). Currently using 2 amps. Rockford Fosgate P-400-4 amping the front speakers (6 1/2 in) and the Fosgate P1 Punch subwoofer. The other amp is also a Fosgate, P-200-2, which is amping the rear speakers (4 in). The speakers I got are Alpine Type S. In my opinion, the front speakers are ok, but it's lacking in the tweeters and in midrange. The rears, I can bear hear them even though they are amped. So, I heard JL Audio speakers are smooth. Now I want to get them. I don't know which model should I get that would fit my taste. My choices are TR650CSi or C2-650. Do we have any JL fans out here? Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Thanks for reading.

sounds like those are out of his budget. but worth saving for. The alpine type-s speakers sound like crap if you ask me. The C2's are definitely better than the TR's. You say type-S lacking in the tweeter section huh? I've always thought they had a very bright, but nasty sounding tweeter. Of the choices mentioned, I'd get the C2's. A little better in my opinion, Boston Acoustics SR60 for components, or SR65 if you want coax

I have had JL components, clean but not loud. if your looking for more volume, boston might be a better choice. even the rally series got loud with some power.

Yes. I am looking for clean smooth sounds. Please are enchanting about JL's smoothness. So I want to find out myself. I think I'm going with the TR's.

i would say boston's are smoother, but not always that loud. unless you get to the PRO or Z series. then those get pretty loud

I have plenty of experience with them. If you're buying a brand because of "how smooooooth they are", why are you getting the most entry level? At least get the C2's, or else your money is better spent on another brand

The technician recommended those to me. I told him i wanted C2, but he said I won't like them. I was suprised. Also, he said it has crossover it won't go well with my stock head unit because the C2 only has one line for signal. When my car requires 2 line, one for low and one for high. So if he would of installed the C2 for me, I would get crap sound out of the tweeters because of that. Is this all BS ??

I think what he was saying is that the C2's crossover isn't biampable. If your car has the Mark Levinson system, then he's kind of right. the factory amp has separate outputs for tweeter and woofer. If it does not have mark levinson, then it's a fullrange output and the tweeters are just capped and the c2's would work fine.
Personally, I think you should save up a few more bucks and buy some Boston SR60's. TR's are just a basic entry level speaker.

i have to agree with this statement. i have always enjoyed the top line components over their lower counterparts. i have had better reliability with the top end when i tend to abuse them also. if its worth doing, its worth doing right.

How come I hear good and bad about Bostons? Some people say its smooth. Some people say they regret having it because it aint smooth. If you were to describe the SR60's. How would you describe it? Clean/clear, good mid-bass, strong or all of the above?
