Hi everyone alright i went in a sub woofer competition, went first place in cat. 1" to 20" well my car is a Honda Civic 99 hatchback and i have an amp kicker zx2500.1 2007 model with a solo X 12" at 2 ohms, upside up in a 3'cubic vented box makes to sounds at 32hrtz (from ebay for those who thinks that theyve seen it)
reached 147.7 db with it
but!
when they say the turtle can beat the rabbit, well....
a Pontiac Cavalier 2005 approx. with a trunk, 1 zx1000.1 2009 model with 2 L5 12" in a sealed box 1.8' cubic per chamber approx. upside in rear he got 148.3 db
well my question is, HOW COULD IT BE what the hell a 1000.1 can beat up a 2500.1 i know its one woofer against 2 but common, its 2500w rms and the L5 are only 600w rms each
and dont worry about my plug-ins, 3 battery Optima, 1/0 g. all the way along with a tsunami capacitor 18 farad with a build up HP alternator working at 180 amp
the other guy setups was way cheaper than mine!

what frequency did you peak at? if your box is tuned at 32Hz, you're tuned WAY to low for good spl in that car.

Yeah that makes sence so if i build my own box, what dimension you think that will be the best for a civic? i have 30" of lengt to play with, 5/8 or 3/4 mdf? vented or not? also my box is made with double 5/8 mdf wood "double" maybe that dont help too
face in the rear or face up, does it makes any difference? Heard someone say you get 30% from the front, 70% from the back of the box and what you guys think is better between trunk and hatchback?

The L5's I guess was wired to maybe 1 ohm so the advantage is he had more cone area and also more power going to his subs, you have 2500 watts to a 2 ohm load so essentially your subs may be seeing like 1000 watts more or less and your opponent was seeing about the same with more cone area.
