I recently put a hifonics BX1500D that I had laying around in my girlfriends 06 GG. Everything turned out fine until I tried listening to the radio.... Almost all the stations I regularly listen to no longer come in. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

If only it were that easy. Never removed factory radio, so not the problem. Any other suggestions?

I know it's not a matter of the antenna coming loose. When I unplug the remote wire to turn off the amp my reception comes back to normal, but the moment I return power to the amp, the reception is lost immediately. I've never encountered this problem with any other installs, so it's kinda buggin' me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

does your amplifier power or ground wire run close to the antenna cable???

i DO NOT believe this applies to that amp, but some newer digital amp interfere with AM reception...like JL's new HD series amps and Kenwoods Excelon Reference XR_S series. Maybe even alpine's PDX, but not sure on that one.but the JL's for sure

I tried running the power wire on the outside of the car just to see if that would help. Didn't make any noticeable difference. I removed the amp from the box and moved it around and that seemed to sereiously interfere with the reception. Just wondering if that amp is creating some sort of a field thats messing with the reception. It's kind of a pain cuz she uses her ipod with an fm transmitter and obviously that's not working too well with the radio interference.

is the radio reception only affected when using the fm transmitter? or just listening to regular registered broadcast fm radio stations?

It affects the regular broadcasting stations as well. I can have a station coming in perfectly then as soon as I power up the amp, bam, reception totally gone.

Not sure what brand it is. I bought it at a local best buy. I tried putting a ground loop isolator on it and that didn't make a difference either.
