I need to make an amp rack to go underneath the second row seats in my truck. I've never made one before but im thinking its pretty simple, just trim a piece of 3/4" MDF down to about 13"w x 48"l, paint it and customize it whatever way you want etc. What Im not sure of, is how to make it so that it doesnt slide around. It will be resting on top of the metal bars beneath the seat (pictured below). Im thinking maybe put some velcro on the bottom of the piece of wood and also on the grey plastic pieces that are beneath the seat? Any adivice or suggestions???

Or u could mount the amps and hid the rca's and wire and just have the top of the amp exposed with cut outs, then u could use 1/4 plywood and around the edge(1-2") see how much room from floor to ply and use some wood that high to "fill" the gap...pin nail it/ glue...cover in what ever u want for material...done

I'm not sure if this would help or not. This was underneath the back seat of a Hummer H2 SUT/HUT model. That's the short one with the small covered pickup bed in the back...sort of like an avalanche. The amps went behind the seat...but this was the layout of the subwoofer box. might give you some ideas for woodworking and that it's not that hard. There was twice as complex of swinging backets as that truck appears to have. Posts: 5455 | From: Columbus, OH - formerly FL | Registered: Oct 2003

Thats pretty cool, Donald. And maybe there would be a way to mount the amp rack using existing bolts for the seats?

Oh, I just need something really simple D-BASS, I think I figured it out though. This is what I made yesterday (phone camera pic). Its 1/2" mdf, so I did go a little lighter. It fits just right in between the bars underneath the seat so that I doesnt budge at all. I will probably just carpet this in grey and call it a day! Thanks!!!
