Anyone have a 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird? Recently inquired a 1983 Camaro from my brother in a trade. Anyways looking to do a build for bass race. Anyways with the very limited space im thinking about either 2 10's or 4 Digital Designs 1508's. Anyone have or done an install in a 3rd gen f body?

I did an install YEARS ago in that version of the FBody.

We put 10's where the rear 6 x 9s were. Works out nice. You have to cut some, but they fit.

You can also fit 12's in a sealed enclosure in teh little dip in the back. We built that enclosure totally out of MDF and still had around 3 cubic feet I believe (it has been years---but I believe that to be correct).

3ft^3 (after displace) is about exactly what im working with. Thats were the box will be going also, but will be kept bellow the window line. The enclosure will not be in the little "pocket", going to use that for batteries / amps. I got about 3ft^3 and im thinking about 2 DD 9510G or Audioque HDC3 10's in a 3ft^3 @ 40Hz enclosure. Another route i have been considering is 6 DD 1508's in a 3ft^3 @ 40Hz enclosure. Both would be getting around 6kw rms. Would love to use the pair of 10" Solo X's i have but just dont see them fitting.

Working with a pair of SAZ-3000D's. Would love to try for the 149.9 class but dont see that happening tuned for daily, so it will probally end up being in the 139.9 class. Would like to start the box soon, car needs a new engine anyway. Got an engine, just need to find motor mount adapters and im set.

I have done a couple of setups in 3rd and 4th gens and they always work best with the subs in the rear hole firing to the back panel or off of the hatch glass.

Moving them forward in a non wall application causes a huge loss in output.

I suggest a pair of beefy 10's and as much power as you can feed them in a rear well enclosure.

Thanks, I will probably stick with my dual 10 idea. First on my list is getting the thing running. The current engine needs to be rebuilt but I am going to swap in a LS based 5.3L engine. Ditching the carb in favor of fuel injection. Not going to do much performance wise, mild cam, long tube headers and that’s about it.

A 5.3 with 6.0 heads and you wont need to do anything else performance wise. [Wink]

a pair of 10's or 12's are great in these cars. I have saw a couple that are extreme. One has 4 15" orion Hcca's and another is at the link below, take a look. copy and paste the link.
