I bought a diesel F250 because I have a farm. The OP bought an Aztek cuz it has a big back hatch...
u live on a farm. why in the world would you be on a sound forum. shouldn't you be milking cows?
(now I hope everyone ELSE here gets my point, I am being sarcastic, hoping to demonstrate your way of thinking... but I am gonna guess ure gonna write back some retarded ignorant responce, instead of saying... "Oh, I think I see where you are coming from... your stereo to you is a necessity. No, you don't make a living off of it, but I get it... I get it!" )

Didn't he say he was buying it so he could go grocery shopping and fit the family while still having the stereo he wanted? Screw ignorant, have nothing good to say just stfu

we're starting to consider just putting up a baffle/wall ported so it uses the whole hatch "free-air" style as a vented cabinet, if we can find a good way to seal the hatch door solidly so it has minimal flex... otherwise my port keeps getting shorter, as the wall had to come back 3" for sub clearance from the seat, and the back had to come in 3" for other obstacles....
so it will be "auto freeair" but really, vented... we will use lots of expanding foam to keep it ridgid and air tight

worth the work and effort, xtra weight, eh? I tend to agree... airtight, ridgid, and easier to have actual box specs... vs high flex, leakage, vibration, and exact airspace (tuning) an uncertainty (did I spell that right? who cares)

As of yet, every box I have built was constructed out of car. This one is going to be along these lines, and I am struggling with caulk/glue and screw. I am OCD and anal when it comes to this.... so I am hoping for a bunch of links with different pics like these showing how best to put front/back/top/sides together securely. I'm hoping I don't just glue/caulk the hell out of it and set them together.... I am used to flush ands butted up together and putting 2 1/2" screws in.... but when it's the entire height/width/depth, you can't get in there to drill.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
found these pics on the net, not mine:

use angle iron inside the corners where you can get screws from the outside. then screw into the mdf. seal it up, then fiberglass it.

Krypt, that was a build I was doing in my Yugo a couple of years ago. Funny, I got that far then ripped it out and started over using concrete. I completed the entire box (all but the baffle) but became discouraged because me and a mechanic friend of mine couldn't get it to run. I scrapped the car last summer for $100 bucks, lol.

ya, I've seen that done.. just doesnt feel as much quality as caulking perfect cuts, butting things up perfectly, and pulling it super tight with 2 1/2" sheetrock screws though
