tryin to figure out a layout for my amps and batts behind the wall, lemme know which one looks the best or if u have a different suggestion, feel free
i will be building an mdf cover to hide the wires on the amps and batteries to make it flush
also the amps wont be mounted directly to the back of the box, the back wall is 3/4" mdf, then 2x4s, then another 3/4" mdf. i would screw the amp rack to the back of the box, but i would make sure the amps dont get all the vibrations from it somehow
my first pick, amps would be a few inches higher, i used paint to edit these pics, rough plan is for the amp cover to also extend to cover most of the batteries except for the kinetik logo
second
with this one u wouldnt see the batteries at all
thanks for any input!

it was a clean install and easy to work on.

I'd go with the first one. Just remember to leave yourself plenty of room on either side to make connections and make it workable. We always achieve our highest numbers when the amps are gain matched regularly. Big vibration makes some gain pots go nutty. By the way, you got any extra sub amps laying around?

yeah i think with the power down and pots up i could still access them without alot of trouble
another question would be this. say i build the rack and mount the amps, then use some thin wood for the cover, how do most ppl make them easily removable?
this is what im thinking it would kinda look like

X3, that's exactly what I was thinking too. Now lets see some pics of the wall Ed. You've been holding out for so damn long man!!!

alright fine. i havent taken any pics of the front yet, so heres the back view before i closed it all up.
dont ask about the resin. i used a crappy roller and it left bumps everywhere, so i had to sand it down to get it smooth, i might put another layer of resin on when its warmer, but till then this will have to do
this should be enough to satisfy u
775 sq inches of port and 40 cubes net, with or without port displacement, i forget. port is 11" long, hopefully tuning to around 40hz-i think. lol

I'm satisfied for now. I won't be fully satisfied until I get a demo of some Lil Jon playing on those btl's. Everything looks good so far, and that is a ton of port and box. Are you maybe gonna try for the 159.9 class? I don't see 149.9 to be an issue at all, not that it ever has been for you. This will just make it a whole lot easier to do.

unless i somehow get an exorborant amount of money i doubt i'll add more batteries, dont forget the fourth 2400 under the hood and the 250a og alt too
this will definately be a 149.9 vehicle, but i know i'll let it go full tilt at least one show, just to post a score. my last wall with four 15 mojos and two 4kws was 450 sq in of port and 30 cubes and would bass race a 155 and burp a 156 at 41hz
if this setup does at least a 157 i would be happy with it, i just hope my note is either 41 or 44hz.
lack of a garage big enough to work in and all this damn cold makes work on it really slow

well here is what the layout i almost certainly will be using...
with the batteries in that position i can build a nice amp rack/box cover prolly using some sweet plexi and make it look good and also be functional if i need to bring coolers and chairs and groceries. all stacked on the amps but the amps will be protected from anything i can set on top of them...win win
we'll see how it plays out and how easy it will be since i havent used plexi for anything before.. so here we go
what do u guys think about this new layout? this isnt really my daily driver but i will still drive it around just for fun and for comps

That should work. Are you planning on one amp per sub or are you strapping them? If I were you I'd just do an amp per sub. That way your more likely to get more power than if they were strapped. At least thats what I've found in my case.

I say mount them on a hinged board that covers everything and run the wires through holes to hide them. Easy to work on and esy to get to batteries

i hate to see you mount them there because if you want to add more batteries in the future it's gonna be problems.

If you mount them to the back wall and use a thin piece of wood for a trim panel, just use a little velcro on the backside to hold it in place, that way you can just pull it out simply and easily if you need to.

Or if velcro isn't strong enough he could use some of the tiny neo magnents to hold the pannel in place. I've seen that done before with good success in a vehicle capable of a 160. That way he won't have to worry about the bass shaking the velcro off.

yeah it'll be one amp per dual 2ohm sub so each amp is gonna get like .7ish ohms per amp.
my plans of adding more batteries is like a 4% chance that will happen. i just dont have money for more batts. i imagine if i suddenly had like 16 batteries i could just line them all on the floor, enclose them in a wood batt box, then put the amps on top nice and cool, but till that never happens i think this will work best
i wanted to mount them upright like on the back of the box, but with the batteries on the bottom then the amps above them, leaves me with about 4-6 inches of room from top of amp to ceiling to adjust all the gain settings, which i dont really like at all
this way all the adjustments are all in line and easliy reachable from the back of the vehicle
and if a make a nice mdf box to enclose all the wires and plexi to protect the tops of the amps i'll still have plenty of room to put stuff on top of everything for going to shows and any daily driving i might do

Ed look into my idea. It worked really well on bronco. Amps on hinged board that folds down to go to the gains and settings and plenty of floor space to haul things around.
