I haven't posted here in ages but about a year ago or so one of my older 12inch re se subwoofers stopped working, cone stuck in a pushed out position.

Since then it has only sat in my room, it feels like a wasted tossing it in the trash but then again there seems to be nothing else to do with it.

I figured I would post here and see what sort of response I could get, with the price of new re se subwoofers any kind of repair seems out of the question.

Thanks!

Is it worth having the sub reconed even though it is an older model? That is sort of the main question I guess I am having.

If anyone has any other creative suggestions like the candy dish I will take them also [Smile]

Thanks everyone.

It's definately worth it. You're looking at around $100 for a recone and that's way better than just buying a new sub. If you can get a recone and do it yourself it will be cheaper.

I'm really not very confident that I could recone it myself.
