Rockford did some good numbers I know, so did Orion as well as others but I dont think they were great on the sound q side. I mean they were great but not alot of people were using them for sound q. I seen mostly Mcintosh, Nakamichi and pioneer had some Class a amps.

Those Old School Class A/B amps from Rockford & Orion HCCA's in the 80's were well known for SQ & still are.

yes rf was very big in the sq department as well as alpine and pioneer . mb quart was late late 80's to very early 90's . ppi and soundstream were also popular late 80's high end equipment .jl audio started to be popular in the early 90's as well .

my first real big set up...3 sounstream 6.0's 3 jl 10w6 v1's and mb quart 6.4.tweeter set up....that was a but load of money but in 94-95 it hit 145.7 on ac 180 mic leagl mtx was just getting hair on the amps.....ppi was pimp and that way after the 80's man the old school rocked

The BIG 3 in the 80's were Rockford Fosgate, Precision Power & Orion.
